Chapter 128 I Am Sorry
Lysander fell silent for a moment

She was well aware of Elisa’s medical condition. The fact that she had managed to hold on for three years was a testament to the remarkable success of Sergio’s angioplasty.
“Have you
told Lysanne about this?” Lysander asked. “What if she starts causing trouble in front of Grandma Elisa again?”
“My grandma wasn’t really fond of her.”
Lysander was surprised. “Grandma Elisa doesn’t like her? Why?”
Josiah chuckled bitterly. “It’s probably because of some things that happened when I was young. My grandma has been a vegetarian and religious for years, so she’s very averse to killing.”

Lysander remembered. Who was it that mentioned this to her last time?

Following a verbal altercation, Lysanne ended up killing the small chicks that the street vendor was selling at the school gate.
This incident probably made Elisa, who was always kind–hearted, form an unfavorable opinion of her.
“So you’re planning to keep it from her and then take me there?”
“Grandma has Alzheimer’s. She only remembers you now and really wants to see you.
“What about Lysanne?”
“She’s been getting close to Harry recently and has been spending time with him these days.”
“Has she stopped checking up on you?”
Josiah said, “Probably just old friends catching up. She’s not clinging to me as tightly as before.”
At this point, Josiah let out a sigh of relief as if a burden had been lifted from his shoulders
Through the phone line, Lysander
uld hear his tired sigh.
“Where is Grandma Elisa now? At the old house?”
“She’s in the military hospital at East Harborbrook.”
The fact that she was admitted to the hospital indicated that things were indeed not going well.
Moreover, the last time Elisa had surgery, it was performed at Central Hospital where Lysander worked. She underwent an angioplasty. This time, they purposely avoided that hospital and instead went to a further military hospital. Presumably, they were afraid that Lysanne would find out and cause a scene.
“Okay, I’ll go visit her,” Lysander agreed.
Josiah immediately nodded in agreement. “Okay, I’ll come pick you up after you get off work today.
“No, please don’t. I’ll take a taxi there myself.”
Josiah knew what she was worried about and could only say, “I’m sorry for inconveniencing you.”
Lysander said, “It’s fine. To be honest, I’ve had a good three years of marriage with you. Now that we’ve

anically parted ways, I don’t feel wronged. Grandma Elisa has always been kind to me. Given her current condition, it’s only right that I go to see her.”
Before leaving work in the afternoon, Lysander went to check on Priscilla in her ward.
Only Priscilla and Helen were there. Harry wasn’t present, nor was Lysanne.
Helen was trying to persuade Priscilla. “Let’s make a trip to Hestrya and do the test there. If it’s a son, everyone will be happy. If not, we’ll just get rid of it now while it’s still early. You’ll suffer less.”
With a look of utter terror, Priscilla clutched her stomach, shaking her head incessantly, “Mom, I don’t want to take the test. Please…”
Helen was displeased. “But what if it turns out to be a worthless daughter? The Molsey family won’t raise it.”
“I will” Priscilla insisted. “I can raise it.”
Helen frowned. “What do you mean by that? Do you know female doctor you get along with hint at something? Speak!”
Is this child really a girl? Did that
Priscilla was not good with words and could only shake her head while crying. “N-
“N–no…”
“Fine. I’ll go directly to your father, He’s the director, so I’ll have him pressure that Dr. Thorne. I don’t believe. she won’t talk. If she doesn’t, I’ll have her fired!”

Helen was about to open the door of the ward and walk out, but unexpectedly bumped into Lysander.
Helen’s expression immediately turned somewhat flustered. “Oh, Dr. Thorne, you’re here.”
“Yes, I came to check on Priscilla,” Lysander replied, bypassing her and entering the ward.
Priscilla reached out to her. “Lysander…
Lysander held her hand. “Why are you so cold? Are you feeling chilly?”
Priscilla kept shaking her head. Glancing cautiously at Helen, she said carefully, “Lysander, please help me.”
Lysander patted her hand reassuringly. “Don’t worry, you’re the pregnant one. If you don’t sign, no one can force you to give up this child.”
“But what if a family member signs instead?”
“This matter depends on the pregnant woman’s wishes. Family members cannot make decisions for you.”
Priscilla breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this. “That’s good then…”
Helen walked over. “Dr. Thorne, what’s the point of keeping us in suspense like this? If it’s a boy, just tell us, and we’ll all be happy. Your continuous evasion only makes us suspect that this child might not be a boy.”
“Madam, not only is it against the hospital’s rules to determine the sex of a fetus, it’s also against the law. I don’t want to lose my job or end up in jail. Please, don’t put me in a difficult position. Even if you get the hospital director involved, the outcome will be the same.”
Helen frowned. “Fine, fine. You’re so young yet so rigid in your ways. Here’s the deal. You arrange for us to be discharged, and we’ll transfer to another hospital tomorrow.”
“Where to?”
“Hestrya.”
“No!” Priscilla’s voice suddenly became sharp. “I don’t want to go to Hong Kong! I refuse! Lysander, please
save me…”
It took Lysander quite some time to calm Priscilla down.
Helen had been coldly observing all this, muttering something under her breath.
“Madam, where is Harry?” Lysander asked.
“He’s working. How can he stay here all the time?”
“Priscilla’s mental state isn’t very good. Maybe having her husband by her side could help.”
“Mental state?” Helen scoffed. “She seems fine to me. She just shouted so loudly earlier. What’s wrong with her? Men have to work to support their families. She’s just pregnant. She’s well–fed and well–cared for every day. How could her mental state be bad?”
