Chapter 1359
But everything that went down in Starhaven, he was clued in.
Thalassa hated Lysander with a fiery passion because of her mother’s death, even going so far as to cut him out of her life completely.
Someone had spilled the beans to him. He’d played it cool all this time, just to keep himself out of the mess.
“Mr. Gordon, you get a thing for Thalassa, don’t you? That’s why you’re so hell-bent on driving a wedge between her and Lysander!” Susan didn’t mince words.
When a guy goes out of his way to break up a woman with another man, isn’t it usually because he’s got the hots for her and wants a clear shot?
“You’ve got it all wrong. Thalassa, a woman with four kids? Not my cup of tea,” Callum denied flatly.
“Mr. Gordon, you might fool others, but can you fool yourself?” Susan scoffed. “If you’re not into her, then you wouldn’t mind if I spill the beans on our little collaboration to Thalassa, right?”
Callum clenched his teeth. “Susan, do you want to end up together with your parents?”
“Easy, tiger. I’m just looking to borrow something to help you and Thalassa hit it off, that’s all,” Susan said with a flippant tone.
“What’s that?” Callum perked up. He did fancy Thalassa and could now understand why Leopold had been willing to die for her love.
Love can drive someone insane.
He had come back to fulfill Leopold’s last wish, but as he got closer to Thalassa, he started slipping into Leopold’s shoes, feeling what Leopold felt for her. To experience the agony of unrequited love. To understand why, in matters of the heart, Leopold chose a path of no return.
And in this role-play, Callum fell for Thalassa himself, too.
Her resilience, her kind-hearted bravery, her moral clarity, and her radiant beauty-it wasn’t just her looks that had him spellbound, but also her selfless nature, her unwillingness to burden others.
Just as he wished, he felt Leopold’s heartache, the pain of loving someone he could never have, and why he’d chosen death over living without her.
But now, Callum himself was caught in the same snare. In too deep to extricate himself.
He should have told Susan to buzz off. If she wanted to
Thalassa hated him, so be it. But now, he couldn’t. Hetle to Thalassa, let her. If

he asked Susan what she needed.
“A helicopter and some explosives,” Susan said, her eyes burning with vengeance.
Callum tensed up. “What do you need those for?”
“To blow Lysander up! With Lysander out of the picture, nobody’s competing with you for Thalassa! Plus, I don’t want Thalassa to have him! If I can’t have him, neither will she! If Lysander’s gone, Thalassa will never have him in this lifetime, and her kids will grow up fatherless. You can swoop in, comfort her, and take on everything she comes with. How perfect.”
Susan spewed her madness.
“You really have a death wish!” Callum’s anger simmered barely under the surface.
“Yeah, I don’t want to live anymore. My parents ditched me, and I’m left with no kin on this earth. The Lysander I wanted is out of reach. If I can’t have him, I’ll destroy him!” Susan’s voice was twisted.
“If you don’t want to live, I’ll grant you that wish!” Callum’s temper was chilling.
