Chapter 32
Summer kept looking in the direction Alick left. So Jonathan thought she minded the relationship between Alick and Joan.
“Jonathan. I need a minute too.”
Summer stood up hurriedly. It made Jonathan feel confused.
“Sanford, is your mum feeling bad?”
Sanford shook his head to show he knew nothing about it. But there was a hint of worry in his eyes.
Abby and Ballard just passed backstage, so Sanford guessed that Summer left the table because of them.
“I need a minute too.”
Jonathan felt speechless.
Abby and Ballard in doll clothes were waiting in the actors’ lounge.
They thought they could sneak in, but the surveillance was so strict that actors couldn’t go anywhere but backstage or in the lounge.
They tried again to sneak in, but they failed.
“Ballard, what should we do?”
Abby touched her ear and looked at Ballard angrily.
“Don’t worry. I’ll figure out a way.”
Ballard took out a tablet PC and tapped it quickly with his lovely hands. And a plane graph of the house showed up soon on the screen.
“We can climb through the ventilation ducts to the next room and get out.”
Although it would affect her elegant manners, Abby agreed involuntarily because it seemed to be the only way that they could get out.
As soon as they began to carry out their plan, Sanford called them.
“Hide. Mum saw you guys.

Sanford informed them immediately when he saw Summer going backstage to find
them.
“How did she find us?” Abby was getting nervous. “What should we do?”
“We have no choice but to hide.”
To hide conveniently, the two took off their doll clothes. Ballard hid in the costume wardrobe while Abby hid in a large barrel hurriedly…
The barrel was a tool that would be used in the show. The room inside was enough for Abby to hide.
“Excuse me, lady. This is the lounge for actors, so you can’t go inside.”
“I just go check something. And I promise that I won’t disturb the actors.”
Summer stretched her head to look inside while speaking. She had a strong feeling that the two kids she had seen were Abby and Ballard.
She wanted to see them herself. Otherwise, she wouldn’t stop worrying.
“What’s going on?”
“Clark, this lady wants to get into the actors’ lounge.”
Clark wanted to scold the lady who didn’t know good manners. But he changed his attitude when he found out the lady was Summer.
“Ms. White, why are you…”
“Nothing special.” Summer smiled, but she began to stand still. “I saw two acquaintances just now, so I planned to confirm it.”
“Then go in please.” Clark said with a smile, “I’ll go with you.”
Summer forced out a smile.
She felt it was not good.
Because she didn’t want anyone to know about Abby and Ballard. She hoped she had mistaken the two.
Summer had to walk into the lounge. She felt relieved because there was no Abby or Ballard.

“Ms. White, have you found any acquaintances?”
“Oh, I think I have mistaken them.”
Summer was going to leave the lounge. Suddenly, she glanced at the two sets of doll clothes. She frowned.
She felt that something bad was going to happen.
“Then we need to leave here because the show is going on soon.” Clark didn’t notice any unusual things, so he kept his smile.
“Yes…”
Summer left the lounge with Clark.
Summer planned to find an excuse to go back to the lounge again, but Clark followed her until she returned to Jonathan’s side..
After informing Abby and Ballard, Sanford got back to the table hurriedly. On the way back, he saw Alick and Joan. Sanford hid not far away.
He couldn’t hear the conversation between the two. But he could see that there were tears in Joan’s eyes. Joan wanted to pull Alick’s sleeves, but the latter pushed Joan’s hand
away.
A few minutes later, Joan left. Sanford noticed that someone was staring in the direction. he hid.
“Show up yourself.”
Alick frowned as Sanford came out where he hid.
Alick said grimly, “It is rude to overhear others’ conversation.”
“Overhear? I have no interest in overhearing your conversation with that ugly woman.” Sanford folded his arms around his chest and said, “I was just passing by.”
Sanford’s indifferent expression looked exactly like Alick’s. Like father, like son.
“Passing by? Why did you hide then?”
Sanford felt slightly guilty, but soon he felt confident again.
“I hid because I liked it.” Sanford was a tough kid. “It is none of your business.”

Alick’s face darkened.
Sanford showed no respect to anyone before, but he wouldn’t talk so rudely to Alick. Sanford changed recently…
Alick was pi ss e d off by Sanford’s attitude.
He walked to Sanford and held Sanford on the collar. Sanford looked weak.
But he was not as weak as he looked. Sanford was getting agitated.
“Alick, what are you doing? Put me down.”
“The show is on. Why didn’t you go back to accompany your great-grandpa?” Alick’s words sounded grim. “And you are a child now. You need to call me dad.”
Sanford resisted with all his strength. But Alick’s clenching was too tight to get rid of. So Sanford gave up resisting.
He was under control, but he hoped Abby and Ballard wouldn’t be found.
In the lounge…
“Abby, where are you?”
Ballard couldn’t hide anymore. He got out of the wardrobe after the actors left. But he didn’t see Abby.
“Abby? Come out.”
He searched every part of the lounge, but he didn’t find Abby. And he checked the surveillance through his tablet PC, but there was no record of Abby’s appearance. Abby disappeared without any sign.
Ballard felt it was impossible.
Ballard calmed himself down soon. He wanted to find Abby. But the house was too big to search for a kid. Ballard needed help.
Sanford was taken back to the lobby by Alick. He was now sitting on the chair unhappily. Although Jonathan tried to talk with him, he refused to say anything.
“Who made Sanford angry?”
Sanford answered with anger, “No one but that smelly man.”

Smelly man?
Jonathan was surprised by that new title for Alick. He laughed because he thought it
suited Alick.
“I will help you punish him later. But before that, I want to stop being angry.”
Alick frowned. “Grandpa, you will spoil Sanford.”
“Mind your own business. I spoil whoever I want.” Jonathan shot a glare at Alick. And he smiled when he saw Sanford getting less angry.
Alick felt speechless.
