Chapter 681
Chapter 681
They hadn’t met up. However, Natalie knew that Kate was definitely floored.
“What? A divorce? Are you sure? Nath, a divorce is more than just a declaration. You’ve just gone home for a few days. I think Jeremy has changed drastically. He has become much more attentive toward you.
“Nath, there’s no way to turn back time. Let’s… You must consider your decision thoroughly. After all, Jeremy wouldn’t have wanted this to happen, right?”
She was briefly shocked. Then, Kate immediately tried to talk her out of it. Her heart seized whenever she thought of Jeremy and Natalie.
She was launched into further agony upon hearing Natalie’s determination to divorce him.
Natalie wasn’t surprised by Kate’s reaction. She replied, “Mom, I know it’s unfair to Jeremy if I divorce him. However, it wouldn’t be fair to either of us if we didn’t get a divorce, would it?
‘Mom, I think of his betrayal every time I look at him. He only held my hand and I wanted to throw up.”
“What?” Kate was dumbfounded.
“How did things get to this point? Nath, why don’t you visit a psychologist? Let him help you.”
A psychologist would be their best bet. They couldn’t convince Natalie to stay in their marriage, but a psychologist would definitely be able to help.
Natalie didn’t know how to react to Kate’s words. She said, “Mom, I’ve been to a psychological assessment already.”
How could she have passed over a visit to a psychologist? Yet, he could not help her forget those memories or make her continue loving Jeremy.
It would’ve been untrue to say she’d never loved Jeremy. However, she couldn’t keep loving him anymore.
Who could sympathize with her situation if they hadn’t gone through the same thing?
“What did the doctor say?” Kate pressed on
Natalie didn’t keep things to herself. She explained, “Mom, this isn’t a mental health issue. He can’t make me forget what happened.”

Kate was speechless. She flailed helplessly and murmured, “Nath…”
“I’m sorry, Mom,” Natalie said. She hung up immediately after.
Then, she went to the study upstairs and printed two copies of their divorce agreement. She signed both copies.
Then, she headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner. She made dishes both she and Jeremy adored. It was a simple meal.
Then, she texted Jeremy. After a few minutes, he messaged her back, telling her he would be home around six.
Natalie stared at the word “home“, lost in thought.
When Skylar got off work, she noticed that Jenny had texted her. How typical of a little girl–blaming others when wronged before looking inward.
*Skylar, were you the one who stopped Joe from coming to see me? Don’t you know that Joe was my only companion growing up? I don’t have any family except for Joe. “He’s the only one I want to see when I’m sick. Aren’t you being too cruel? How do you sleep at night after doing so? You and Joe have gotten married. Why are you still unsatisfied? You’ve hurt me and caused me to wither hopelessly. Does this entertain you? Don’t be too inhumane!”
She’d sent the message around 3:00 pm. When Skylar offered no reply, Jenny sent another message half an hour later.
“Skylar, give Joe back to me, alright? Before you came into the picture, Joe never treated me like that. He’d spoiled me silly. He would never ignore me while I was sick.
“Yet, you’ve forced him to turn a blind eye to my situation. Aren’t you being unnecessarily cruel? I’m begging you. Please! I’ll do anything.”
Skylar looked at the huge bl
