Chapter 41
After a long day of training, Aurora and her soldiers walked out of the field bathed in the warm afternoon sunlight.
Although they got interrupted by Chloe’s drama once, they still had a very productive day.
Everyone’s spirit was high. They had no doubt that Ever Moon Pack would be able to win the next round of competition again.
Kaelan was walking by Aurora’s side, talking enthusiastically to her about a training tactic that he learnt today.
And it was when a deep voice came from behind their backs:
“Aurora.”
Aurora turned around.
Damien was walking up to them in long strikes.

He walked right passed by a few she–wolves who wanted to say hi to him and came directly at Aurora.
“How are you feeling today?” Damien asked, studying Aurora’s face closely.
Aurora smiled and answered in a business–like tone, “I am fine. Thank you for asking.”
“You shouldn’t start training so soon. Baron is still in bed resting. And so should you.”
“Well,” Aurora shrugged, “Lucky for my pack, I am nothing like Baron.”
Damien raised an eyebrow.
Aurora’s tone was clearly sarcastic. But Damien didn’t seem offended by that.
“Ever Moon Pack is indeed lucky to have you,” Damien said coolly.
He directed his cold gaze at Kaelan and asked, “Is this your soldier?”
“Yes. My junior captain, Kaelan.”
“The soldiers’ dining hall is on the other side of the training field. You are heading toward the wrong direction, junior Captain Kaelan.” Damien said with a faint hint of hostility in his voice.
“I invite him to sit with me in our dining room. Is this going to be a problem, Alpha Damien?” Aurora asked, crossing her arms.

Chapter 41
Damien’s face turned dark.
“You invite him quite often.” He stared at Aurora, “Are you two close?”
Aurora avoided his intimidating gaze and said, “I don’t think I need to report every detail of my personal life to you, Alpha Damien… Now, if you will excuse me.”
She bumped Damien on his shoulder purposedly and walked away with Kaelan.
But she could still feel that Damien was staring at her back.
His persistent gaze irritated her.
She knew that she might face some troubles coming back to Silver Blade Pack.
But she never foresaw Damien to be this…clingy.
What did he want now?
Was he suddenly regretted of how he treated her before?
Regardless, it was too late now.
“Gamma Aurora.” Kaelan spoke up abruptly, his voice strained. “Why does Alpha Damien acts like he cares about you a lot. He is the one rejected you, isn’t he?”
“I don’t know…who cares?” Aurora shrugged.
“Are you thinking about getting back with him?”
“Oh god no.” Aurora replied with an eyeroll, “That is enough about him. You must be starving. Hurry, I heard they are serving lobsters today.”
Hearing that Aurora and Damien weren’t getting back, Kaelan finally started grinning, looking relieved.
The group of them arrived at the hotel’s banquet hall soon.
When Aurora stepped in with Kaelan, Rivena and Lance, she was not surprised to find that Chloe was here as well.
Chloe changed her clothes again. She was now dressed in a stunning evening gown. She even wore a diamond necklace to complete her whole look.
She did stand out from the crowd of exhausted, sweaty soldiers.
“Alpha Damien!”

Chloe called and scurried over to them. Then she skipped Aurora and addressed Lance with a smile, “Alpha Lance, good evening.”
Aurora raised an eyebrow and turned to Damien, “It just occurred to me…Alpha Damien, do you know that Chloe was in Ever Moon Pack’s training field this afternoon?”
Damien frowned.
“What are you doing there?” he asked Chloe sternly, “Civilians are forbidden to enter the training field.”
“I–I didn’t enter!” Chloe stammered in panic, “I was behind the fence, observing in the distance-”
“Then why didn’t you observe your own pack?” Aurora let out a sneer, “Do you find Silver Blade Pack’s soldiers less gallant than Ever Moon’s soldiers?”
Aurora’s voice was loud enough for everyone in the hall to hear.

Some generals from Silver Blade Pack immediately turned to glare at Chloe.
“No!” Chloe’s face turned red with embarrassment, “It is not what I meant-
“I don’t care what you meant. But please stay away from my training field in the future. Otherwise, the next thing that hit you in the face won’t be a simple dodge ball.”
With that said, Aurora walked away, chin up.
Chloe bit down her lip in fume.
She couldn’t believe that Aurora managed to give her yet another hard time as soon as she stepped into the room!
That bitch-
She couldn’t wait a single second to get rid of Aurora!
Chloe took in a few deep breaths to calm herself down. Then she put on a sweet smile and went over to sit down
with Lance.
Aurora, Rivena and Kaelan were all at the bar ordering their drinks. So Lance happened to be alone when Chloe approached him.
“Alpha Lance…”
Chloe pouted and said in a pitiful voice, “Do you blame me for visiting your training field as well?”
Lance turned to look at her.

After a small pause, he chuckled lowly, “It is Aurora’s training field, I have no right to blame anyone.”

“But you are the Alphal You have the right to do anything as you please.” Chloe leant over to him and whispered, “If you ask me, Aurora can be very bossy and rude and unreasonable sometimes…Look at her with that soldier
She gestured Lance to look at Aurora and Kaelan.
-If she still cares about your feelings, she should never be that intimate with a soldier! We both know that you
two are not brother and sister…”
The smile on Lance’s face faded away, “What is your point exactly, Miss Chloe?”
“My point is-
Chloe smiled.
”
-there are many great women out there. Don’t keep your options limited.”
Just then, a maid come over to fill Lance’s glass. Her hand shook and some of the wine got spilled on Lance’s hand.
“Oh god! My apology Alpha Lance!” the maid apologized in panic, “Please, let me…”
She picked up his hand and pulled out a handkerchief.
Gently, she wiped away the wine.
The tip of her index finger brushed across his palm seductively.
Lance jerked around at this maid and frowned.
She had a ginger head and a pretty face.
He also noticed that her outfit was much fancier than the other maids in this dining hall.
“Jenny! How can you be this clumsy?” Chloe pretended to be mad. “Alpha Lance, Please forgive my maid. Is there anything she could do to make it up for you?”
Alpha Lance.”
“Anything, Alpha Lance,” Jenny added, looking up at Lance from under her eyelashes.
Lance took his hand back and smiled aloofly, “…I will let you know if there is anything I need later.”
When Aurora came back from the bar, she found Lance rubbing his temples frustratedly.
“What happened?” Aurora asked.
“Thank god you come back,” Lance sighed. “I almost got swollen alive by two sirens.”

Then he went on to tell them what happened moments ago.
“You have got to be kidding me!” Rivena gritted in disdain, “That whore Chloel Now she is asking her maid to seduce you? Does she have a part–time job as the pimp?”
Aurora stared at Jenny, pondering.
She and Jenny were very close back then. Damien didn’t care about her. The rest of the servants didn’t take her
seriously. The only person she could talk to was her mald Jenny.
She was so gullible back then and thought that her maid could be trusted.
But looking back now, she was blinded by her trust and didn’t notice the ambitious side of Jenny.
Jenny was power–hunger, would do anything to climb the social ladder.
She had her eyes on Lance now. She wouldn’t stop until Lance was tightly wrapped around her fingers.
“What should we do now?” Rivena asked, “Should we kick this maid’s ass and ask her to behave?”
“No.” Aurora said, “We will play their game. If this plays well, we can take down Chloe and the Ravenwood all.
together.”
She gestured the two of them to lean over and whispered something into their ears.
