Chapter 195
The sun was shining on Yvette’s face at Dewberry Manor.

When she opened her eyes, Xavier was already back on the bed. She looked up and saw the man’s dashing face.
Just as she was about to get up, he pulled her back in his embrace. “Good morning.” He kissed her
forehead.
She was stunned. It seemed like he didn’t remember what she had said before. Yvette avoided him right away, and Xavier opened his eyes a little to look at her in confusion.
Then, he grabbed her chin and kissed her.
He wasn’t as gentle this time. Instead, he was domineering and violent.
Yvette blocked him off with her hand, wanting to avoid him again. However, she couldn’t do it at all.
Just as Xavier was about to continue what he was doing, a phone started ringing. He frowned and
wondered what was going on this time.
He reached for the phone and realized it was Yvette’s phone ringing. He looked at it and saw that it was Kiki calling. Feeling upset, he passed Yvette the phone. “It’s your friend.”
She said nothing and got out of bed after taking the phone. Then, she walked to the balcony before answering it. “What’s up, Kiki?”
Kiki didn’t know Yvette was in the same room with Xavier and told her what happened that day. “Don’t you think something’s wrong with Tristan?”
When Yvette heard what Kiki said, she thought it was weird as well. She pondered on it and asked, “Kiki, could he possibly be referring to Zac?” Other than Zachary, there was no other child near Kiki.
“Zac?” Kiki was stunned. “By the way, there’s something I’ve forgotten to tell you. When I went to the kindergarten to pick up Zac before, I saw Tristan trying to catch him. Fortunately, I was there…”
She was suddenly hit by a wave of fear.
Yvette couldn’t believe it as well. She wondered why Tristan would keep targeting Zachary. Was it really because he had accidentally run into Tristan back at Clifford’s banquet?
She knew Tristan held grudges, but she thought it was unreasonable for him to target a child like that.
“Kiki, do you think Zac is hiding something from us?”
Yvette had always believed Zachary since he was like an adult. Usually, he wouldn’t tell lies unless he was
scared of getting hurt.
“What could a four–year–old child like him hide from us?” Kiki was utterly confused at that moment. Don’t worry, Yvvy. I won’t take a single penny from Tristan. He can go to hell!”
“Sure.” After pausing for a moment, Yvette asked her, “What about your father?”
“I’ll try to delay it for now. He can’t possibly kidnap me and take me to the Shaws, right?”
Kiki thought it was weird as well. “I don’t know why Mr. Shaw Senior likes me so much. I’ve never even

seen him before.”
Michael wasn’t like Yara. Yvette knew he still cared about Kiki, so he wouldn’t force her to do something she didn’t want to. However, the same couldn’t be said for Tristan’s side.
As Yvette spoke to Kiki, she kept looking at what Xavier was doing in the room. He was lazily looking at
her.
Seeing how she was talking on the phone nonstop, he got ready to stand up. So, Yvette quickly told Kiki to help keep an eye on Zachary. Then, she hurriedly ended the call.
Xavier stood in front of her in his black sleeping robe. “What did you two talk about? You were talking for so long, but you hung up when I came.” As he spoke, he reached out to grab her phone.
Yvette quickly hid it behind her. “Everyone has their own secrets, right?”
It was a simple action, but it made him more curious. He wanted to know what was so secretive on the phone that he couldn’t look at it.
She noticed his gaze and said, “I told her how you abandoned me last night to see Daphne. There. Happy?”
