Chapter 134
With everyone watching him, Xavier walked to the door. When he passed by Quentin, he slowed down.

“What did she say to you earlier?” he asked.
Quentin repeated what Yvette had told him. Xavier quickly left without asking any more questions.
Not long after he left, his friends told Daphne everything about what had happened between Tracy and Xavier.
Daphne was busy dealing with the online comments against her and getting rid of the
trending searches. When she suddenly heard that Tracy had attempted to flirt with Xavier, her eyes turned cold.
“Thank you for telling me.”
She immediately called someone and said, “Teach woman called Tracy Jones from Sternhow Club a lesson.”
Who did Tracy think she was to try and steal Xavier away from her?
Daphne wasn’t the same pathetic woman who used to let everyone walk all over her. She had learned a few tricks after she had become a celebrity.
Meanwhile, when Xavier returned to Dewberry Manor, the lights in the living room were off.
When he turned them on, he saw that Yvette had left the things she had bought on the table. If not for that, he wouldn’t have been sure whether she was home.
He stepped forward and glanced at the three bags stuffed with clothes on the coffee table.
He couldn’t help but take another look. That was when he realized that it was all men’s clothes.
His eye twitched. When he went upstairs, the door to Yvette’s bedroom was still open. Some light was leaking out of the gap.
He gently pushed the door open and saw Yvette in a pale dress. She was sitting on a soft couch on the balcony and looking at the moonlight with an empty look in her eyes.
Xavier couldn’t decipher the look in her eyes. It was as if she had become one with the night.
She looked like a painting.
Xavier stared at her absent–mindedly. He didn’t come back to his senses, even after a long time had passed,

Yvette turned and saw him. Her eyes were slightly teary.
Just when Xavier thought she would question him pitifully like she always did, she surprised him by staying silent instead.
“I went to Sternhow Club just now, but it seemed that you and your friends didn’t want me to join you, so I came home on my own,” she stated.
Yvette stood up and went in front of him.
“I’m kind of tired, so I want to rest. Can you leave if there’s nothing you want to say?”

Despite that, Xavier didn’t leave. He stared at her tranquil face and asked, “Is it true that only went shopping today?”
If all she had done was go to a shopping mall, the bodyguards couldn’t have lost track of her.
Yvette had known that he wouldn’t trust her. “I bought you some clothes while I was there as thanks for complying with the agreement.”
He had never thought that she had gone to buy clothes for him. For some reason, his mind. told him that Yvette was lying to him.
However, when he looked her in the eye, he firmly silenced his doubts.
After a moment of silence, Xavier replied, “Don’t believe what you heard in Sternhow Club.”
It was the first time he had ever tried to comfort her. Even so, Yvette didn’t feel much better. Her fists tightened slightly, and then she forced a bitter smile.
“It’s okay. I know. I’m already used to it.”
She was already used to it…
Xavier gulped. He wanted to explain, but he couldn’t get the words out of his mouth.
In a laidback manner, she said, “Don’t worry, I’ll pay you back soon. It’ll be fine once you’ve gotten over it.”
Xavier couldn’t remember how he left. When he got back to his room, he felt especially
uncomfortable.
It wasn’t because of regret, but because of Yvette’s attitude. Her indifference was drastically different from how she used to act.
It was easy to tell when she loved someone, and it was equally easy to tell when she didn’t.
Once again, Xavier found himself unable to fall asleep. He sat on the balcony and subconsciously glanced toward Yvette’s room.
He had never expected their relationship to become like this.

On the other side of the wall, Yvette was having trouble falling asleep as well. It was summer, but she still had to wrap herself up in a blanket.
As soon as she closed her eyes, her mind became filled with the mocking laughter of those people.
“Deaf Yvvy…”
She touched her ear and felt warm liquid flowing out.
After grabbing a tissue from the bedside table to wipe the fresh blood away, she took her medicine again.
She then fell into a light sleep while hugging the doll that Noah and Zachary had left for her. Xavier kept his promise and didn’t go over to her room that night.
