Andrew stared at the simple meal in front of him, a piece of bread and a glass of water. He took a bite and a sip before heading to Alyssa’s door.
Alyssa, however, was busy working. She had taken over Cathy’s responsibilities only to find herself swamped with tasks she barely understood. Organizing Andrew’s schedule for the next day had led her into a mountain of a challenge.
Hearing the knock, Alyssa opened the door and greeted Andrew, “Mr. Coleman, what’s the matter?”
For a moment, Andrew hesitated, then asked, “How about we order some takeout?”
Alyssa smiled softly and replied, “Thanks, but I’m trying to stick to my diet.”
Surprised, Andrew looked her up and down and teased, “You’re already so skinny. If you lose any weight my family will question my sexual orientation for marrying a guy.”
Alys sa stared at him sharply, her teeth clenched, before forcing a sweet fake smile. “No worries, Mr. Coleman,” she replied smoothly. “Just tell them I’m all woman and my orientation is perfectly normal. I am sure they can rest assured,” she added.

Andrew raised his eyebrows, smirking, “You’ve got quite the sharp tongue.”
Alyssa didn’t miss a beat. “Are you done here, Mr. Coleman? I’d suggest you find something productive to do,” replied her as she closed the door firmly, leaving him no chance for a comeback.
Andrew only chuckled, turned around, and headed to his room.
Alyssa was an incredible and capable worker. By the time the clock struck eleven, she had already unraveled the company’s situation and even managed to make up a schedule for Andrew.
Feeling satisfied, she finally shut the computer, washed up, and jumped to bed.
The next morning, Alyssa and Andrew headed the company together. As usual, she had him drop her off a little distance away, preferring to walk the rest of the way to the office.

When Alyssa arrived on the 37th floor, she noticed Sarah was already there. Sarah was punctual but she came early today waiting for Alyssa.
No sooner, she approached Alyssa. “Alyssa,” she asked, “did you get the design draft I asked you to follow up on yesterday?”
“Got it,” Alyssa replied indifferently.
“Please, give it to Ms. Carlson,” Sarah said.
It seemed unusual for Alyssa. Normally, Sarah would’ve eagerly handed it to Cathy as she loved showing off whenevèr Cathy was around. But today, something was different. She was oddly asked Alyssa to take it instead.
Thus, Alyssa responded, “Okay, I’ll take it in a minute.”
In a snap, Sarah sneered, her tone dripping arrogantly, “Take it over, right this second! You were desperate for it yesterday, but you only brought it today. It’s already late, and you still want to drag it. I have no idea how you even worked at Rivorn Clothing before.”
Alyssa kept her glance and quiet. Something about Sarah seemed off today. She had not started her work yet, but Sarah had rushed her to hand the documents to Cathy. “There must be something wrong,‘ Alyssa talked to herself.
She pulled out the folder she put in her bag yesterday, opened it, and carefully reviewed all the documents. ‘Everything

looked fine, she thought. Next, she grabbed her phone, reconded videos of all the documents, and then headed to Carly’s office. Somehow, she kept the video recording function ranting
“Ms. Carlson, here are all the design drafts for this season’s new produs Aba sa handing over the folder.
Cathy took it without even glancing inside. She stilled an Alyssa and said “Great, I’ve got in. You can head out now?
Alyssa caught the look on Cathy’s face and felt even more uneasy. Remembering how much Cathy used to dislike her, there was no way she would be flashing such a sweet smile
There must be something wrong thought Alyssa once again, but the could not put her finger to figure it out.
