Chapter 81
Winston hung up right after saying that.

Simon was in no place to be telling Winston off about anything.
He tossed his phone back onto the bedside table and looked at Millie, who was asleep next to him.
He heard Simon’s words ring loudly in his ear again, accusing him of not being loyal and embarrassing men as a whole.
Winston got more annoyed the more he thought about it. He pinched Millie’s face and complained, You flirt!
Winston’s phone rang at that very moment. He saw Joanna’s name flashing on the screen.
He was about to pick up, but he subconsciously hung up before he could stop himself.
He was too annoyed to bother cheering Joanna up and put his phone on silent before tossing it to the side again.
It was late in the night, but Millie couldn’t sleep soundly. She always woke up in the middle of the
night from pain.
When she woke up that morning, it was only 6:00 am. It was cloudy outside, and the room was barely lit by a grayish hint of sunshine.

Millie massaged her head, feeling her entire body scream in pain. She turned and was about to of bed when she saw the face of the man sleeping next to her.
She froze.
Who else was the man sleeping in front of her, if not Winston?
She jumped and instinctively slid backward. She reached the edge of the bed and felt herself about to
fall..
Suddenly, someone grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
The very next second, Millie was wrapped up in Winston’s embrace.
His eyes were still closed. He was dressed in black silk pajamas and looked perfectly natural with his arms around her. It didn’t seem like his first time at all.
Millle just felt like everything felt too ridiculous to be true.
He had never slept in the same bed as her in their three years of marriage. He had also never held her like that before.
Was she dreaming, or had Winston officially gone insane?
Millie woke up and pinched his waist firmly. She assumed it must be a dream.
Winston inhaled sharply and opened his eyes.

Millie stared at him in shock. Her wide eyes glinted innocently. “So it’s not a dream?” she murmured.
Winston’s expression darkened. He gritted his teeth and said in his raspy morning voice, “If you thought it was a dream, you should have pinched yourself. Why did you pinch me?”
Millie eventually answered, “It would have hurt.”
Winston fell silent. So she knew it would hurt, but did it to him anyway?
He looked at her in complete confusion. He had no idea what to say.
After a long pause, he said in a low voice, “Be more gentle next time.”
The atmosphere between them suddenly became flirtatious.
Next time? Would there be a next time?
Millie felt strangely uneasy after he said that. She sat up and finally realized that he had brought her back to his mansion.
She got out of bed and walked toward the bathroom as she said mildly, “I’ll wash up and leave as soon as possible.”
That mansion no longer belonged to her and Winston, It was now Joanna and Winston’s mansion.
It wouldn’t be good to bump into Joanha that early in the morning.
Winston leaned against the headboard as he watched Millie walk into the bathroom. After that, he looked down.
At that very moment, he finally felt how far away Millie was. She no longer belonged to that home, nor did she belong to him anymore..
Millie was all freshened up when she walked out of the bathroom.
She had tied her hair up and wore her dress from last night. Even though she had no makeup on, rather than looking drab and lifeless, she looked even more innocent and fresh,
Millie walked toward the bed and put her phone into her bag.
Winston stared at her from against the headboard, not taking his eyes off her even for a second.
Before she left, he grabbed her wrist and said, “Millie
“Yes?” she said as she looked up at him calmly.
Winston opened his mouth as he looked at Millie. He didn’t know what had gotten into him, but all he knew was that he suddenly didn’t want her to leave. He wanted to spend just a bit more time with her.
Perhaps it was because of what she said yesterday about how it was enough to know how it felt to be Mrs. Greer before they finalized their divorce.
That was why he wanted to make things up to her a little bit.
“You should have breakfast first.”
