Chapter 183
“Uncle Thomas, have you read the news? Anderson Group is no more.” Millie took a sip of her latte and looked up at Thomas.

Thomas was checking the contract on his phone. He frowned and casually replied, “Yeah?”
“Are you responsible for that?” Millie couldn’t resist asking.
Thomas looked up at Millie again. “What?”
“Were you the one who did it?” Millie asked again.
Thomas finalized the contract, switched off his phone, and grinned at Millie. “Of course!”
He showed the contract on his phone, misinterpreting Millie’s question. “I’ve achieved success for a reason, you know?”
Millie laughed. “You’re the best, Uncle Thomas.”
Thomas was just about to say something when his phone rang. Millie sipped her latte and heard Thomas shout, “What? Right now? How serious is it?”
He stood up suddenly, and Millie quickly set down the cup. She couldn’t help but wonder who was in trouble. Thomas informed the other person on the phone that he would be there soon and promptly hung up.
“An artist from the company fell off the wire while filming. I’m heading to the hospital.”
With that, Thomas immediately left.
Millie was stunned. He departed decisively without a second thought. As she gazed at the empty seat, she sighed, feeling alone again.
Recalling what happened during the day, she lost her appetite. After finishing her latte, she decided to head home.
As she stepped out of the restaurant, a black van suddenly pulled up in front of her, Millie was about to walk around the van when she noticed two men emerging from it and sprinting directly toward her.
Before Millie could react, they forcibly pushed her into the van and commanded, “Stay quiet!”
Millie’s heart sank as they shoved a cloth into her mouth as soon she entered the van.
The man in the passenger seat glanced back, eyeing her from head to toe, and couldn’t help but let out an appreciative whistle. “What a stunning woman!”
Millie kicked the back of the seat with a frown, wondering who these people were and why they kidnapped her.
“Don’t move! Stay quiet!” Someone sitting next to her held down her legs.

Millie had no other option but to remain silent and carefully observe the people around her.
The black van contained five people, including the driver. They were all dressed in black. They emanated a ferocious presence, definitely not to be underestimated.
Millie’s hands were bound with ropes, and she heard someone ask, “Boss, we just need to throw her into the sea?”
“That is precisely what we were instructed to do. Just follow the orders!”
Millie felt a shiver run down her spine at the thought of being thrown into the sea. She was thrown into the sea to rescue Winston back then and nearly died. If she were thrown in again, she may not survive for even half a minute.
She was extremely scared and terrified of the ocean. She vividly remembered the suffocating sensation of almost drowning, the fear and powerlessness, and the numbing sensation in her head.
“She’s so beautiful. Isn’t it such a pity to just throw her into the sea and let her drown?” someone asked.
“Why are you asking this? Are you planning to be with her? Do you know who she is? She is the heiress of the Caldwell family, Winston’s wife.”
“I’m going to kill her. So why should I care whose wife she is?‘ the man responded arrogantly.
Suddenly, someone pinched Millie’s chin, gausing her to look up and face a man with above- average looks. He let out a soft hum of approval as if admiring a masterpiece and exclaimed, “She’s absolutely stunning, far more beautiful than that woman.”
Millie wondered which woman he was referring to. Was it the one she had in mind?
The man suddenly removed the cloth inside Millie’s mouth and jokingly said, “Come on! Let’s give you a chance to beg!”
Millie gasped for breath and asked calmly, “Who are you? Why are you kidnapping me?” “Stop talking so much. I’m giving you a chance to please me,” the man said impatiently.
Millie whispered, “I’ll pay ten times the price. Let me go!”
The man paused when he heard that she was offering ten times the money.
