Chapter 71: Dr. Kelestine Living With Mr. Cassius?
Gemma stared out the window.
The villa neighborhood had gone dark
Everything went silent as the night settled in.
But the Wilsons‘ house? Chaos. No one was sleeping tonight.
“Out of respect for Mr. Gray, I’ll give u a heads–up–you’re the one who should lay low.” Cedric froze, caught off guard, as if she’d just told a wild ghost story.
“Huh?”
Gemma snorted. “Believe it or not, up to u
Though Cedric was trying to turn over a new leaf, Gemma hadn’t forgotten his past, s
After hanging up, Noah popped out from under the covers and ran to her side.
The little shark tail on his pajamas was wagging.
Cedric stared at the disconnected call.
He wasn’t surprised by her cold attitude-
He’d been a jerk, after all.
so she left it at
that.
What did shock him was how unbothered Gemma seemed by the idea of Marcus wrath?
Did she seriously think hiring some random lawyer and filing for divorce would magically cut her ties to Marcus?
If she stayed Mrs. Wilson, the worst Marcus would do was yell, give her the cold shoulder
But if she divorced him? Marcus wouldn’t hold back. His methods would be brutal.
Alas..
Gemma had saved his grandfather’s life. Cedric couldn’t just sit by and watch.
He decided to keep an eye on the Wilsons. If they tried anything against her, he’d intervene.
Crowds had swarmed the Wilson Corporation building, drawing media and government attention..
The scene was a disaster.
Marcus, who’d planned to run for Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year, could probably kiss his candidacy goodbye.
He was like a caged beast, fury blazing in his bloodshot eyes.
Fortunately, by midnight, the senior managers had managed to disperse the crowd.
By morning, the legal team was knocking on doors, soothing tempers one by one
The PR team buried the story.
By noon, the stock had steadied, and everyone exhaled in relief.
Marcus, sleepless for two days, was about to crash in his office when a court summons arrived.
Short and to the point:
Gemma wanted a divorce. That damn woman had already filed her case!
The date? Exactly the day their cooling–off period ended.
Rage coursed through him as he shredded the summons.
“Get me the head of legal,” he barked.
The secretary replied nervously. “Mr. Wilson, it’s not just the legal team. Anyone in the company with legal knowledge is out handling the worker disputes.”
“Then pull the head of legal back. I’ve got something more important for him.”
Marcus clenched his fists so tightly they cracked.
Chapter 71- Dr. Kelestine Living With Mr. Cassi
If Gemma weren’t from such a humble background, he might’ve believed all these “coincidences” were part of her scheme.
But that was absurd.
Gemma had made a name for herself in the medical field after saving Mr. Gray, but she was far from established.
There was no way she could afford a top–tier lawyer.
If she’d gone the lawsuit route, someone must’ve put the idea in her head.
Cassius Raven?
No.
Mr. Cassius was cold and indifferent. Even if he knew Gemma, he wouldn’t meddle in personal affairs.
That left Brian Read!
Marcus fists tightened with a vengeance.
Those two assholes!
When did this start?
His mind churned.
He picked up the phone to call his contact at the hospital.
As he suspected!
Gemma hadn’t resigned.
And the airtight contract pinning him to his responsibilities?
Only Brian could’ve helped her pull that off
Fuck!
Marcus snecred
He recalled the investigation report on Gemma
A golden girl from a small–town school, she’d always been ambitious.
Was all this just an excuse to shack up with Brian under the same roof?
No, something didn’t add up
Their interactions had been minimal–nothing to suggest a deep connection.
Then it hit him.
This was payback!
Because he’d let Mabel get close
Gemma had retaliated by cozying up to Brian!
Because he’d agreed to the divorce in anger!
She’d taken it further with a lawsuit!
Jealousy and resentment–those he could understand.
But dragging the company into her mess? Pushing him into a crisis? Unforgivable.
He had spoiled her for too long.
He figured it out.
He was still angry, but the feeling of panic in his heart disappeared.
He took a few deep breaths, and suppress his anger.
Now, she needed to learn the cost of crossing him!
Cedric returned from a quick call and immediately felt the tension in the office.

“Did we find out who’s behind the workers?”
Marcus‘ dark gaze fixed ahead. “No, but I’m betting on Brian.
“Brian? The fifth son of the Reads? Taking him down wouldn’t be hard, but offending the Reads outright wasn’t ideal.”
Though not as powerful as the Wilsons, the Reads were still a prestigious family.
He couldn’t deal with him for no reason.
“Skip the diplomacy.”
Marcus growled, black rage swirling in his eyes. “This time, I’ll take on the Reads legal team myself.”
“What are you talking about?” thought Cedric.
Cedric blinked, confused.
“What? Are u suing the Reads? Do we have evidence?”
“No.”
“Then why-”
“Gemma’s lawyer must be from the Reads”
Cedric was speechless.
A moment ago, they’d been talking about worker disputes
Now they were on divorce lawyers?
If the timing weren’t so bad, Cedric might’ve shaken Marcus‘ head to see how much nonsense was in there
“Max, seriously, you-
Before Cedric could finish, the door opened. Mabel walked in, carrying a lunchbox.
“Don’t skip meals,” she said sweetly. “I made some food. Try them.”
Her sultry gaze lingered on Marcus, practically dripping honey
Cedric shuddered and made an excuse to leave.
Meanwhile, Shawn had returned to the country and was sent directly to the Raven family estate for safety
Gemma checked him over, and declared him mostly recovered.
“Dr. Kelestine.”
Shawn teased, his blue eyes glinting mischievously
“Are you living here, too?
Gemma packed up her med kit “Yep Waiting for you.”
“Not buying it.” Shawn smirked.
“Cass doesn’t let females, let alone women, anywhere near him.”
Interesting.
He clicked his tongue, his eyes sparkling with gossip.
