Chapter 1827
Thalassa’s eyes brightened with surprise as she recognized the figure before her, “Lydia, you made it! Why didn’t you come in?”
“Fitch mentioned you all had stepped out, so I decided to wait here for you,” Lydia responded.
As Thalassa, pushing Lysander in his wheelchair, drew closer, she took a better look at Lydia’s face and noticed some dark bruises under her eyes, signs of a healing black eye. Those bruises were remnants of the last time Lydia had thrown herself into a fray to help Thalassa crash a wedding, ending up in a scuffle with the security team. The marks hadn’t completely faded yet.
Thinking back to Lydia standing her ground against four, all to help her make a dramatic entrance at the hotel to stop Lysander and Rosalind’s wedding ceremony in the nick of time, Thalassa couldn’t help but admire her bravery and was immensely grateful. “If it weren’t for your help, I wouldn’t have been able to make it into the hotel so smoothly and stop the ceremony,” Thalassa warmly said to Lydia as if she were family, “Why wait outside? Come in and make yourself at home.”
As she spoke, she ushered Lydia inside. Ads by PubFuture
Lydia seemed a bit tense, especially upon seeing Lysander, her demeanor instantly filled with a deep respect, and she straightened up, saying, “Good day, sir!”
Thalassa was momentarily taken aback, almost forgetting that Lydia used to serve under Lysander, who was her commanding officer.
Lysander gave her a brief look and said, “Just call me Lysander, no need for formalities.”
He had retired from service and was no longer in command.NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
“This…” Lydia struggled with the informality, unsure how to call him by his first name.
Seeing Lydia’s dilemma, Thalassa suggested with a smile, “If it makes you more comfortable, you can call him Mr. Sinclair, it’s okay.”
“Well, if that’s alright, then Mr. Sinclair it is,” Lydia said, scratching the back of her head awkwardly. Ads by PubFuture
Once inside, Thalassa made sure Lysander was comfortably seated on the couch before hurrying to prepare some refreshments for Lydia.
Fitch, noticing the gesture, quickly intervened, “Ms. Everhart, allow me. Please, have a seat and enjoy your visit with Ms. Everhart.”
Fitch was overly cautious, aware that he had unintentionally made Lydia wait outside, fearing Lysander’s disapproval.
Thalassa, noticing Fitch’s

anxiousness, didn’t object and sat down with Lydia, starting a casual conversation, “How have Drunke and my aunt been doing recently?” Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
Lydia, still somewhat rigid, nodded, “They’re doing quite well, actually Dr. Funke has been personally administering acupuncture for my aunt’s arthritis, and it’s beeno improving.” Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
After answering Thalassa’s question, Lydia quickly remembered her purpose for visiting, “I’ve come for Mr.Sinclair’s routine check-up and acupuncture session. It’s that time of the week again.” Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
Even though Dr. Funke had concluded that Lysander’s condition was unlikely to improve, he still insisted Lydia continue with the weekly check-ups and treatments.
Lydia didn’t fully understand the reasoning but followed the doctor’s orders diligently.
Before Thalassa could respond, Lysander’s deep voice cut through the room, “Is there still a need to continue with these treatments?”
