Chapter 1817
Lysander said, “Let’s head back to Royal Estates.”
“Actually, could you drop me off at the military academy first?” Atticus Sinclair spoke up.
As soon as he said this, both Thalassa and Lysander turned to look at him, their eyes filled with reluctance. They had only just reunited, and now Atticus Sinclair was going back to the academy?
After Atticus spoke, he saw his parents looking at him with eyes full of longing, making his heart ache. He too didn’t want to part with them so soon. But, rules were rules.
Atticus said, “I got a half-day leave from the drill sergeant, and it’s almost over. I have to go back. Can’t break my word.” Ads by PubFuture
Lysander felt proud of his words: “That’s my boy, a soldier through and through.”
“How are your siblings adjusting to their studies?” Thalassa knew they couldn’t keep Atticus any longer, but she still couldn’t help feeling sad. Kids grow up, find their own place in the world, and need to spread their wings. Her love couldn’t be the chain that held them back. The best kind of love was letting go when it’s time, allowing them to soar freely.
Thalassa was still worried about Dorian, Elowen, and Sophia. This time, she only saw Atticus. She hadn’t seen the other three, and it weighed on her heart.
Atticus said, “They’re doing great. Especially Dorian. He’s like a fish in water, getting along with everyone. He’s the center of attention, and even the instructors like him.”
“And Elowen, ever since she joined the academy, the cafeteria’s menu got a major upgrade. She could probably eat the place out of house and home.”
“Sophia’s incredible too. She’s helped a lot of students by identifying fake jewelry, saving their parents from getting scammed. Even our instructors like to have her check out any jewelry before they buy it.”
Speaking of his siblings, Atticus’s eyes sparkled as he proudly shared their accomplishments. Listening, Thalassa’s smile widened, her eyes moistening with tears. Even though she hadn’t seen her children, hearing about their school life from Atticus allowed her to picture their lively and popular selves, filling her with both joy and longing. “Mom, what’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?” Atticus suddenly stopped, anxiously looking at Thalassa, noticing the tears in her eyes.
Thalassa snapped back to reality, quickly wiping her tears away, “No, no, of course not. You described everything wonderfully. I just miss your siblings so much…”Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
She didn’t hide her longing for her children.
Atticus nodded, looking down, “Sorry, Mom. They couldn’t get leave permits, so they can’t come out. And only Grandpa has been able to visit us.”
He felt bad for not being able to bring his parents to the academy to see his siblings.
Seeing Atticus’s guilty face,
Thalassa felt a pang of heartache reassuring him, “It’s okay, you have nothing to apologize for. You’re still a kid, and your dad and I will find a way to visit you all at the academy.” Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org
“Really?” Atticus’s eyes lit up with excitement. Clearly, he too was hoping for his parents to make the× effort to visit them. His classmates often had parents come to see them, but for them, it had only Grandpa for the past three years. They had grown accustomed to the cycle of hope and disappointment. Now, hearing his mom say they’d come to visit, that spark of hope in Atticus reignited.
“Of course, it’s true,” Lysander confirmed firmly, his assurance unwavering.
