29- Rewards and rom–coms “I am so sorry Ryann, I came as fast as I could an- oh…” she stares up at Darrien. She seems a little intimidated, I’m not sure if it’s because of his size or just his generally severe demeanour but she freezes and stops mid sentence. “Let her through Darrien, it’s … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 29” »

Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan (Complete)
This book is authored by Kit Bryan. I’m an ordinary waiter, but I can see people’s fate, including Shifters. Like all children, I was tested for magic when I was only a few days old. Since my bloodline is unknown and my magic is unidentifiable, I was marked with a delicate swirling pattern around my upper right arm. I do have magic, just as the tests showed, but it has never lined up with any known Magic species. I can’t breathe fire like a dragon Shifter, or hex people who piss me off like Witches. I can’t make potions like an Alchemist or seduce people like a Succubus. Now I don’t mean to be unappreciative of the power I do have, it’s interesting and all, but it just really doesn’t pack much of a punch and most of the time it is just pretty much useless. My special magical skill is the ability to see threads of fate. Most of life is annoying enough for me, and what never occurred to me is that my mate is a rude, pompous nuisance. He’s an Alpha and my friend’s twin brother.
28- Babysitting and board games A couple hours later, Darrien and I are sitting playing Monopoly at the table when there’s a knock at the door. Darrien answers it and returns with a package of food. I’m grateful for the diversion because he is absolutely dominating the game. He is far more competitive than I … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 28” »
27- Fate and family I decide I can’t stand it anymore. “Okay, spill. What is it?” I demand. Darrien turns to face me, his expression serious. “Miss Gale-” I cut him off. “Ryann.” I remind him. He grimaces. “Miss Ryann.” I sigh, it’s progress at least. “You should not invite men into your room so … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 27” »
26- Schedules and sick days I tap Darrien on the arm to let me see. He moves to the side a little to reveal Maggie’s grandson Logan. The eleven year old looks pale and sweaty. His blond hair is almost plastered to his head. He’s bundled up in a thick jacket and looks completely miserable. … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 26” »
25- Reassurance and respect “Are you sure…” Bellamy trails off. I nod. He gives in pretty much immediately. Well that was casy. I sort of expected him to argue a little more. Well, whatever. He settles back into the bed. I crawl over the end of the bed and back into my spot. He flicks … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 25” »
Strings of Fate 24- Heels and hugs I read the note, then re–read it again. Hellamy apologised? To me? I am in complete shock. But why? Not to mention, I was never upset with him. I hadn’t even considered that the attack was any fault of his or that I should blame him for it. … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 24” »
23- Disrespect and dress codes She seems nervous. I frown. Why do they keep assuming my automatic reaction is going to be hate. Seriously. They shift into cats, not horrifying monsters. I was so busy trying to figure this out that I forget to answer Megan who is getting increasingly agitated. Bellamy nudges me to … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 23” »
22- Muffins and mornings I turn off the water and hear Bellamy talking to someone. I wrap myself in a fluffy towel and exit the bathroom. Curious, I make sure I’m properly covered with the towel before opening my bedroom door and sticking my head out. “Bellamy, is someone here?” I question. He doesn’t get … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 22” »
21- Pillows and protection The more I calm down, the more awkward this entire situation seems. “Alright, I should make a few calls, let people know what’s happened and where I am. Why don’t you go change?” he suggests. I glance down at myself and realise that my clothes are all dirty from where I … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 21” »
20- Attacks and awkwardness I look to Bellamy and find he is fighting off two other men. The men are all pale and have near black eyes, although I could be mistaken in the dark and under this much pressure. Bellamy lunges at one of the men, attempting to knock him down, but a flash … Read More “Strings of Fate by Kit Bryan Chapter 20” »
