Chapter 67
Killian Volkov
“You didn’t know, did you?” I turned to Sebastian, my voice sharp and cutting. “She never told you the truth. She’s my mate. We were married. You think you know her, but you don’t know anything”
Sebastian looked between me and Adeline, his fists clenched at his sides. His face twisted in disbelief, confusion, and anger. “Is this true?” he asked, his voice quiet but full of tension.
Adeline opened her mouth, but no words came out. I could see her chest rising and falling quickly, the weight of everything crashing down around her.
Sebastian’s jaw clenched even tighter, and when he finally spoke again, his voice was like ice. “So you’ve been lying to me this entire time? About everything?”
“I didn’t lie to you,” Adeline whispered, finally finding her voice. I just didn’t want to talk about it. I didn’t think it mattered anymore.”
“Didn’t matter?” Sebastian repeated, his voice trembling with barely controlled rage. “It didn’t matter that you were married to the man who’s been barging into our lives? It didn’t matter that you’re his mate.”

Adeline shook her head, tears brimming in her eyes. “It wasn’t like that.” She took a step towards him, trying to explain to him, but Sebastian took a step back, running a hand through his hair, breathing hard.
“Adeline. How could you keep something like this from me?”
“Sebatian, Please, Listen to me-“I cut her off, “You don’t understand!” I snapped, stepping in again, my hands balling into fists. “This isn’t about the past. Adeline is still mine. And you–you’re just playing pretend with her.”
Sebastian’s eyes flashed dangerously, and in a heartbeat, he was in my face again, shoving me back with all his strength. “You son of a bitch!!”

“STOP IT!” Adeline screamed, stepping between us once again, her hands pressed against our chests, trying to hold us apart. “Both of you, just STOP!”
But neither of us were listening anymore. We were too far gone, too deep into the heat of our anger. Sebastian’s eyes were locked on mine, and I could see the same rage, the same jealousy burning in him that was burning inside me.
“Adeline is mine,” I growled, stepping toward him once again, my fists clenched, my wolf snarling inside me.
“She’s
my
fiancée. And I won’t let you come into our lives and fuck everything up.” Sebastian shot back, his voice low and full of venom.
The tension between us was electric, the air thick with unspoken threats, and I knew it wouldn’t take much more for things to get violent. My wolf was on the edge, ready to tear into him to fight for what was mine. And I could see the same readiness in Sebastian’s eyes.
Adeline’s voice was shaking, her hands trembling as she tried to hold us apart. “Please, just stop. Both of you. This isn’t helping anything.”
But neither of us were listening. The fight had been building for too long, and now that it was out in the open, there was no going back.
And in the middle of it all, Adeline stood, caught between us–between two alphas, both claiming her, both unwilling to back down.
Sebastian’s voice was full of fury as he glared at me. “You have no right to come here and claim her.”

“She’s my mate,” I snarled back.

At that moment, everything hung in the balance. The air was thick with tension, the anger between us crackling like electricity.
