My Billion
Chapter 22
Killian Volkov
I was shocked, my mind reeling from the revelation. Grandpa so there, his disappointment palpable. I could feel everything around me freeze as my eyes were fixed on the scree
“Killion. I’m deeply disappointed in you,” he said, shaking his head. “I’ve always believed you to be better than your father and me. You need to reconsider this marriage. Laurel is nothing but a lying and cunning woman.” He added and left the office, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
I couldn’t believe it. I kept rewatching the video over and over again. No, this can’t be true. Maybe Grandpa is lying to me, using this fake video to convince me that it was Adeline. But I won’t believe it. Never, she was a whore who had an affair with Sebastian behind my back. Im one hundred percent sure that this video is fake.
I grabbed my phone and called my best friend, Max. “Hey, Max
“Hey, Killian,” he responded from the other side.
“I need your help. I’m sending you a video. Can you check if it’s real or fake?” I said.
“Sure thing. Send it over, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can! He replied
I sent the footage quickly and sat there, anxious and unable to shake the doubt gnawing at me. It can’t be her. No, it can’t be.
Ishut my eyes, trying to push the thoughts away, but memories flooded my mind–the touch, her hot breath against my skin, her voice, her moans, her tight and warm cunt, her soft body. Everything played out in front of my eyes like a vivid, Tormenting dream.
No, it can’t be her.
I know Adeline; I’ve seen her talking to the male colleagues in the office multiple times, and I still remember the day when Laurel and I found contraceptive pills on her desk. No matter what Grandpa says, Adeline is not as good as he thinks she is
The minutes felt like hours as I waited for Max’s response. My office felt suffocating. I tried to focus on work, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Adeline and that night.
Finally, my phone buzzed.
It was Max
“Killian, I checked the video,” he said, his tone serious. “It’s real. There’s no tampering. That woman in the footage–it’s Adeline.” He confirmed.
The confirmation hit me like a punch to the gut. It was Adeline. She had saved me that night, not Laurel.
“You okay, man?” Max’s voice broke through my stunned silence.
“Ye–Yeah, thank you, Max,” I said and hung up.
It was her.
Adeline saved me
The woman I fucked the whole night was indeed Adeline, my ex wife.
“Fuck!” I slammed my fist on the desk, With anger rushing through my veins, I ran my fingers through my hair and sat back
in the chair. This changes nothing. I was determined. Despite the shock, my hatred for Adeline didn’t waver.

Chapter 29-
She was a whore, a cheat, and a murderer. Even if she had saved me that night, it didn’t change who she was.
The next day, I decided to confront Laurel for lying to me all this time. I hated lies, and Laurel knew it. Yet she had lied to my face. I called her to my office at Volkov Towers. When she arrived, she was all smiles and charm, but I was determined to get to the bottom of this.
“Good morning, baby.” She said, walking over to me and placing a kiss on my cheek.
“Good Morning.” I greeted her, my tone casual. Laurel, I need to talk to you about that night when I was attacked by my rivals and you saved me.”
She looked surprised. “About the night when you were attacker She asked, taken aback.
“Yes,” I said, looking at her.
“Why now, baby? It has been four years. Why do you want to know about it now?” She asked, but quickly masked her
surprise.
“Actually, there is an investigation going on that matter, it’s heer four years, and yet we couldn’t find out who was behind that attack. Since we are going to get married soon, I don’t want any more trouble. It’s best we catch the person behind it.” I said, keeping my tone steady. “Could you remind me of what happened? I’ve been having some trouble remembering the
details.
Laurel’s face faltered for a moment before she composed herself “Well, you were attacked by some men, and I found you bleeding. I managed to drag you to the meeting hall and kept you hid until it was safe. Then I took you to the hospital” She said,
I was never taken to the hospital. I still remember what happened in the meeting hall and what we did in the darkness of the night.
“Really? Because I remember something different. I remember being taken to the meeting hall, but it wasn’t you who saved me.” I said, watching her closely
She looked panicked for a split second before masking it with indignation. “What are you talking about, Killian? Of course, it was me. Who else would it have been?” She said, her body tensed and tone shaky.
I stared at her, my anger barely contained. “I know you’re lying, Laurel.” I said, controlling my anger.
Her face turned pale, and she stammered, “No, I’m not, I–I was the one who saved you!” She said,
“No, it wasn’t you.” I leaned forward, my eyes burning into hers. “Why did you lie to me, Laurel? Why did you make me believe it was you?” I asked, clenching my jaw.
Tears welled up in her eyes. “I–I…” She stuttered.
“Answer me!” I yelled in pure rage.
“I–I was scared, Killian.” She began sobbing. “I thought you’d leave me if you knew it wasn’t me. Llove you, and I couldn’t bear the thought of losing you.”
Her words only fueled my anger. “You lied to me for four years, Laurel. Four years!” I yelled, slamming my fist on the desk. She jumped in fear and stepped back. “I did it because I love you Killian.” She said, tears streaming down her eyes “After years, I came back to you and learned that you married Adeline, and I was sc–scared th–that I woul–would lose you.” She cried, reaching out to me and holding my hand.
I pulled my hand out of her grasp and glared at her. Hurt and pain flashed in her eyes. “Please, Killian.” She reached out again, trying to touch my arm, but I pulled aw
“Please, Killian, don’t do this. I love you.” She begged. “I–I was stupid. It was stupid of me to be to you. I agree, but please, please don’t push me away. I was insecure and scared of losing you,” she said. “1 will never lie to you again, please, please, baby.”

“Leave,” I said, trying frand to control my anger.
“Killian, Please. Her face crumpled.
“I said. LEAVET” I shouted, my anger boiling over.
Laurel stood there for a moment, then turned and walked out of my office, her shoulders shaking with sobs.
