Chapter 1372
Tears streamed down Thalassa’s cheeks, her breath shaky and suffocating. Her mind was spinning with the doctor’s words.
Lysander had sustained a severe head injury and needed to be transferred to another hospital urgently, or his life would be in danger
She had thought it was just excessive blood loss, but the situation was far more grave.
Her grip on Richard’s arm trembled as she parted her lips to speak, but overwhelming grief choked her words; her heart and throat felt stuffed with cotton; she couldn’t utter a single word.
After the initial shock, Zephyr managed to compose himself, though his hands shook as he pulled out his cell phone. He looked calm, but his entire body trembled as he dialed Dr. Everest. “Fire up your jet and come to Hollowbrook County Hospital. We need to transfer Lysander to your facility. It’s a head injury-bring your best gear and make it fast!”
Once he hung up with Dr. Everest, he called his security team.
With a trembling but authoritative voice, Zephyr commanded, “I need ten choppers here pronto, and bring ten teams to secure Lysander’s transfer back to Starhaven!”
As Zephyr finished his orders, four little munchkins followed a nurse out of the emergency room. The kids had their sleeves rolled up, revealing chubby arms with tiny needle marks, They pressed cotton balls against the small punctures on one arm.
Their little faces were streaked with dried tears, their usually lively expressions now tinged with fatigue and sorrow. Their youthful eyes glanced at Zephyr before searching the crowd for Thalassa.
Upon seeing Thalassa supported by Richard, their sorrowful eyes seemed to brighten momentarily as they toddled toward her.
“Mommy!”
Zephyr, still trembling, looked deeply and hopefully at the children. He was about to say something to them when they brushed past him and ran straight to Thalassa.
His hopeful gaze turned to one of loss and pain, his eyes darkening with bitterness and anger as he watched Thalassa.
This woman not only had put Lysander in a hospital bed, his fate uncertain, but she had also forced his children to donate blood at such a young age.
Did she even have a heart?
Thalassa straightened up and embraced her running children, her breath caught in a suffocating pain. She smelled the sweet scent of milk on them as her tears fell freely.

Chapter 1372
She wanted to say something, to tell them that their father was in danger and that she didn’t want anything to happen to him-that she would take all the pain and risk in his
stead.
But what use were those words? They couldn’t change the situation, and she couldn’t take Lysander’s place in suffering.
Why did Lysander have to save her?
He could have made it out; he didn’t need to be crushed by that falling wall.
It was all because of her.
The guilt and pain in Thalassa’s heart nearly drowned her like a raging sea.
All she could do was hold her children close to find a glimmer of light, to catch her breath. “Bring the kids over here!” Zephyr ordered sternly.
Quickly, the bodyguards pulled the children from Thalassa’s embrace.
“Atticus, Dorian, Elowen, Sophia!” As her arms emptied, Thalassa reached out frantically for her children.
But the bodyguards were decisive and swift, leaving her no chance to reclaim her children. “Mommy!” Atticus struggled violently in the bodyguard’s arms, kicking and flailing.
The bodyguard secured his tiny hands and feet, preventing further struggle.
“Mommy, I want my mommy!” Dorian also resisted, crying out loudly.
The bodyguard promptly covered his mouth, denying him the chance to call out.
