Chapter 691
It shouldn’t have been a big deal if it were someone else. However, Hera was famous in Jedburgh and Bernard’s girlfriend.
The way Hera was being treated was simply too much.
The sheer thought of it made Thiago angry. “Are you motherfucking kidding—”
Hera stopped him. “Forget it. I won’t go in there.”
“Fine. If you won’t, I won’t either. If you weren’t coming, I wouldn’t have come either. What’s so special about this place anyways?” He tore the invitation card right in front of the security guard in a fit of pique.
Completely stunned, the guard watched them leave.
Hera didn’t respond the way he thought she would!
Shouldn’t she make a fuss about this like Priscilla would have?
If Hera had done that, he could’ve acted as Linda told him to, calling everyone over to see how rude Hera was.
But Hera decided not to go inside! Why?
He was completely thrown off and quickly contacted Linda, who had watched the whole process through the surveillance camera.
Her expression was as dark as the dress Hera wore.
“Don’t mind her. She won’t leave.” Linda was confident.
Hera had ganged up with Stephen to capture Linda, so Linda was confident that Hera wouldn’t leave without achieving her objective.
Linda decided to wait for Hera to come back and beg shamelessly to enter the place.
Nicholas and his father got out of the car at the gates. That was when they saw Hera and Thiago, who were about to leave.
“Ms. Youngworth,” Geoffrey approached them warmly.
She nodded. “Mr. Geoffrey Senior.”
“Why are you guys leaving?” asked Nicholas dubiously.
Thiago hurriedly answered, “You should leave this place, Nicholas. Ms. Linda didn’t invite Hera, and they won’t let her in. What’s the point of attending a party without Hera? I’m not going in, and neither should you. Let them have fun among themselves.”
Nicholas frowned. “What the fuck? Just what are they thinking? If you guys aren’t going, I’m not going either. Dad, if you still consider me your son, you shouldn’t go either.”
“Do you have a death wish?” Geoffrey slapped Nicholas’ head with the invitation card. “Is this how you speak to your father? How dare you tell your father what to do!”
Nicholas hugged his head, embarrassed. “Dad, can’t you cut me some slack? We’re in public!
“Shut up!” Geoffrey barked at him before turning to Hera with a smile. “Sorry about that, Ms. Youngworth. Don’t worry, we’ll always be on your side because you’re my savior.”
Nicholas wondered who was Geoffrey’s biological child.
Hera was so used to their interactions that she smiled composedly. “Thank you.”
“What’s going on?” Tyler got out of the car and came up to them upon hearing the
commotion.
“Mr. Presgrave, you have to be on Hera’s side. Don’t attend the banquet.” Thiago enthusiastically recounted the whole story to him.
Tyler responded, “Of course, I’m on Hera’s side.”
Andrew and Christoper had just arrived and happened to overhear the conversation.
While Andrew was contemplating the bigger picture, Christopher muttered, “Dad, why don’t we leave as well?”
The new semester was about to start. Christopher came to Jedburgh just to see Hera. Now that Hera wouldn’t be joining the banquet, attending it became meaningless.
Andrew put the bigger picture at the back of his mind and nodded seriously.
More and more guests arrived and noticed that others were gathering at the entrance without going on. Seeing this, they also hesitated and stopped at the gates.
