Chapter 1360
Callum had someone deliver a helicopter and some explosives to Susan.
It was all because her ambition knew no bounds. She actually had the guts to plot against
Lysander!
When women go wild, they really outdo men in madness. No one dared even think about taking Lysander out, but Susan had the audacity!
And was Lysander an easy target? Far from it. The guy was no regular Joe. He had a unique status and was always flanked by bodyguards. Plus, after the last mishap with Thalassa’s clumsy attempt that nearly hit Lysander, his grandfather must have doubled the protection.
Even if you couldn’t see the guards around Lysander, you could bet your bottom dollar there were plenty of heavies lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce.
Most likely, Susan would get a bullet in her head before she could even make her move.
But hey, if Susan wanted to sign her own death warrant, why should Callum stop her? She was digging her own grave after all. If she bit the dust, then Callum would have one less threat to worry about. There was no reason for him to refuse.
In Hollowbrook, after a hearty meal, Thalassa and Hertha lingered a bit longer in conversation before Hertha sighed, “I should be heading back. Got work tomorrow and I don’t fancy driving in the dark. My driving skills aren’t exactly top-notch, and I’d hate to rear-end someone on the way home.”
Thalassa couldn’t help but notice that Hertha seemed much more grounded than before. The Hertha of old time was scatterbrained and impulsive, never thinking of the consequences. Now, she seemed to be more cautious.
“Alright, I won’t keep you if you’ve got work. But take a long break sometimes and come stay for a few days with me,” Thalassa said with a hint of reluctance, but not wanting to hold Hertha back from her responsibilities.
“Yeah, I’ll take my annual leave and come over for a proper holiday. Such a shame I didn’t get to see the kids today,” Hertha lamented. She’d come to catch up with Thalassa and to share the latest gossip from Starhaven, but as the godmother, she also missed those four Nittle bundles of joy.
Their lively and adorable smiles were like balm to the soul. But now, having barely finished lunch, she had to leave before the kids returned.
Thalassa waved goodbye as Hertha’s car pulled away. She watched until the vehicle was a mere dot in the distance before heading back inside.

Chapter 1360
Hertha gripped the steering wheel firmly, glancing in the rear-view mirror to see Thalassa’s diminishing figure. A warmth crept into her eyes – parting after a reunion did tug at the heartstrings.
Blinking back tears, Hertha told herself it was okay, they would meet again soon. Or she’d quit her job and join Thalassa in the countryside for a life of farming!
As she comforted herself with these thoughts, a black Rolls-Royce approached from the opposite direction, gleaming with prestige in the evening sun.
Hertha had seen this car more times than she could count-it was Lysander!
Oh Lord, Lysander was here again! Was he coming for Thalassa?
Hertha’s melancholy was instantly replaced by shock. She quickly veered to the side of the road, allowing Lysander’s car to pass.
The Rolls-Royce glided past her modest red car.
Peering over, Hertha caught a glimpse of the driver – a dark figure with a striking face, an aura of sharp elegance, exuding an air of divinity.
It really was Lysander! Her heart skipped a beat.
Thalassa had just been told how good she’d finally escaped Lysander’s clutches, and not two hours had passed before he showed up again in the countryside?
As an outsider, Hertha felt a surge of concern for Thalassa.
And as Hertha craned her neck to get a better look at Lysander, his deep, obsidian gaze fleetingly met hers. That look sent a shiver down her spine.
