Chapter 1346
Lysander’s hand hovered in the air, a moment of hesitation in his steely gaze as he looked deeply at her.
Her frantic retreat was a clear sign of resistance. Trembling on unsteady legs, she still managed to dodge his touch.
Pain shaded his eyes, and his voice resonant with hurt, “Are you feeling unwell?”
Propping herself on the kitchen counter, Thalassa lifted her tear-filled eyes to his. She took a deep breath, attempting to exhale the heavy sorrow that weighed on her heart. Her voice quivered as she asked, “Was it you who had my mom go to the police station to accuse Bruce of fraud?”
Lysander’s piercing eyes fixed on her, seeing the grief and despair in hers.
Her eyes shone with unshed tears, defiant in her resolve not to let them fall.
The anguish and despair were evident, but she refused to let a single sob escape, especially not in front of him.
Seeing her like this caused a dull ache in Lysander’s heart. He knew how much Evelyn’s death had affected her.
“Yes, I asked her to testify,” Lysander admitted gravely, his voice low.
As soon as he spoke, Thalassa’s tears breached their barriers, her breathing shaky. “The video that went viral-that was you having it taken down from everywhere?”
Her voice trembled, struggling to form coherent sentences. She wanted to hear the words from Lysander himself. If he denied it, she could cling to a shred of hope-though she wasn’t even sure what she was hoping for.
Asking these questions was like backing herself into a corner, shattering the last vestiges of hope with each query.
“Yes, the video shouldn’t be spread,” Lysander responded without hesitation, his tone firm as he watched Thalassa.
The video had gone viral in just an hour, while he was at the mall picking out rings, unable to intervene promptly. By the time he saw it, the frenzy it had caused was enough to drown the subject of the video.
Upon learning of the video, he had it removed immediately and quashed the spreading
rumors.
Hearing Lysander’s confirmation extinguished the last glimmer of hope in Thalassa’s heart. Her heart shattered, the shards piercing her from within, the pain stifling even her breath.

Chapter 1346
“Did you ever consider that Bruce might seek revenge when you asked Evelyn to testify?” Thalassa’s grip on the counter tightened, her nails digging into the surface, numb to the pain. Her legs wobbled from the intense heartache, threatening to give out.
She had suffered a miscarriage not long ago and had endured extreme sadness. The emotional roller coaster had taken its toll, and she was now barely hanging on.
Asking that question had drained her of all strength. Before Lysander could answer, her body staggered backward, on the verge of collapsing.
“Thalassa!” Lysander rushed forward, his arms wrapping around her waist.
“Mommy!” The four little ones hurried over, concern etched on their faces.
“Thalassa!” Astrid stood up, her frame stooped with worry for Thalassa.
And Susan, who had been kicked out by Lysander, realized he was too preoccupied to pay her any mind.
She got up, glanced inside the house and saw Lysander holding Thalassa, who was as pale as a ghost, looking frail and close to joining Evelyn.
Wiping the egg from her face, she glared at the scene with a venomous and vengeful look. Lysander’s handsome face was tight with concern. His usually inscrutable eyes now held a tender light as they gazed at Thalassa.
