Noah thought it was weird and wondered if Yvette had to take multiple steps to have a child. After all, his understanding was very limited when it came to this matter.

While he was in deep thought, Yvette had already gotten dressed. She came out, blushing, and asked, “Mark, what are you doing here?”

Mark lied, “I have some private matters that I would like to get Mr. Lane’s opinion on.”

She nodded in embarrassment and took Noah downstairs.

After Xavier and Mark talked for a short while, they left the house. Yvette didn’t ask where they were going.

After they came out, Mark told Xavier about the progression of the project acquisition over the past few months. After Xavier listened to the report, he said, “Thank you for your hard work. Since it’s Christmas tomorrow, you should take a few days off and rest well.” When Mark heard that, he was shocked. That was his first time hearing Xavier thank him for his hard work. He wondered if the world was ending.

“Don’t mention it. I was just doing my job.” Mark was so surprised that he lost his composure.

Xavier couldn’t tell there was something different about Mark. After spending a lot of time with Yvette, he became gentle with everyone else like her. “Is there anything else?” he asked.

Then, Mark remembered something. “Mr. Shaw and Mr. Banks have invited you to join them at Sternhow Club tonight.”

Since Xavier was still pretending to have amnesia, they could only invite him through Mark.

Upon hearing that they had asked him out that night, Xavier rejected the invitation without any hesitation. “I’m not going. Tell them that I already have plans.”

He wanted to spend the night with Yvette. Mark had already known that Xavier wouldn’t be going. Other than going to work, the latter would only be by Yvette’s side. He wouldn’t even go out for walks alone, let alone go to the club.

“Sure.”

That night, Tristan and Quentin were drinking with their wealthy friends in a room on the top floor of Sternhow Club.

In the past, Xavier would always join them, so when they heard that he wasn’t coming that night, Tristan couldn’t help gossiping.

“Xav sure cares more about his wife than his friends now. You’re the best, Quentin. Despite being married for so many years, you’ve never abandoned us.”

Quentin grabbed a glass of wine and showed a fake smile. Then, he asked, “Aren’t you engaged, Tris? Why aren’t you accompanying your fiancée?”

When Tristan heard about Kiki, his expression changed immediately He thought about how adorable she looked with her giant eyes and sweet smile. It was a shame that she had a bad temper.

When they had checked out the wedding gowns together last time, they had run into Leonard and Camila. Kiki had been so upset that she had grabbed Tristan’s arm tightly. “You sure are a jokester. I was forced into this, and we’re not in a carefree relationship like you and your wife.”

When Quentin heard Tristan describe his relationship as carefree, he smirked coldly.

When the rest of the people there heard what Tristan said, they couldn’t help comforting him. “Don’t worry, Tris. When you can make your own decisions in the future, you can have as many women as you want.”

“Of course…”

Tristan raised his eyebrows in satisfaction. Suddenly, he froze. Kiki was standing at the door near him and looking at him while holding Zachary’s hand.

“That’s right! What can a woman from a tiny family do to you?”

Tristan lowered his head and cleared his throat. Then, he picked up his glass of wine to hide the anxiety in his eyes.

He wasn’t afraid of Kiki. Instead, he was afraid of Archibald and Yvette. After all, Archibald was determined to have Kiki as his granddaughter-in-law, and she was Yvette’s best friend.
