Snow was falling heavily.

Yvette watched from a distance as Yara and Cynthia chatted. For some reason, her eyes began to well up with tears.

Ray stood beside her, holding an umbrella. Though he didn’t know what was wrong with her, he could sense that she seemed sad.

Cynthia was about to explain that she was just an assistant when Yvette’s voice came through her earpiece. “Cynthia, pretend to be me and talk to her.”

Cynthia nodded and said to Yara, “Alright.”

“Can I speak to you for a moment?”

“Okay.”

The two of them went to a nearby upscale restaurant.

Yvette and Ray sat in the booth next to theirs, quietly listening to their conversation.

“Ms. Cameron, both Zoey and I love your music. Please name your price. I’ll accept any amount as long as we can get exclusive rights for the song.”

Yara, who was usually obsessed with money, was now showing so much concern for her other daughter. Yvette felt like her throat was being pricked by needles.

She instructed Cynthia, “Tell her that my music isn’t for sale at any price.”

Cynthia immediately relayed Yvette’s words to Yara.

Yara looked a bit embarrassed. “What do you want, then? No matter what you ask for, I’ll find a way to make it happen.”

At this moment, she looked every bit like a devoted mother who loved her daughter dearly. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Findηovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Yvette wanted to see how far Yara would go for Zoey, so she continued, “Aren’t you Yara Cadwell, the internationally renowned dancer?”

Yara was somewhat flattered. She hadn’t expected Cameron to recognize her.

She admitted it without modesty.

But Cynthia’s next sentence left her completely frozen. “At the age of 25, you ended your dance career, which is truly a pity. If you really want this song, I want you to dance in public. As long as you dance, I’ll grant you exclusive rights to the song What do you think?” Cynthia repeated Yvette’s words.

She didn’t understand why Yvette would want this middle-aged woman to dance. What was the point?

But Yvette knew all too well that Yara had never stepped foot on stage or danced even once since she’d given birth to Yvette.

When Yvette had been young and naive, she’d once wished on her birthday, saying, “I want Mom to dance.”

Yara had retorted, “Who do you think you are, asking me to dance? My body is out of shape. I said I’d never dance again in my life!”

She’d been stubborn; once she’d decided not to dance, she never danced again.

Yara’s face fell when she heard those words. Eventually, she rejected Cynthia. “Can we discuss other terms? I’ve said that I would never dance again.” In the end, the deal fell through.

After Yara left, Yvette stepped out. Cynthia approached her with a puzzled look. “Boss, why did you make such a request?”

Cynthia still didn’t know that Yara was Yvette’s biological mother.

Yvette didn’t explain and simply said, “Let’s call it a day. I want to go back and rest.” She needed to investigate what Zoey and Yara’s relationship was.

“Okay. Should we meet that mysterious big shot tomorrow?”

“Sure.”

After their conversation, Yvette returned to the hotel where she’d booked a room. As she opened the door she saw a tall figure standing straight by the balcony.

Thinking she’d entered the wrong room, she was about to leave when the person turned around and asked, “Yvvy, is that you?”

“Xavier? How did you get in here?”

“With our marriage certificate,” Xavier replied slowly.
