Xavier’s brows furrowed. “Isn’t this what you wanted?”
Apart from that, he couldn’t think of any other reason why Yvette had suddenly returned.
Yvette was taken aback.
Before she could react, Xavier continued, “After all these years, any remaining anger should have been vented by now. Just sign the papers. We’ll let the past be the past.”
After hearing this, Yvette suddenly felt like Xavier was extremely ridiculous. After everything they had been through, he actually thought she was just angry.
He was acting as if everything would go back to the way if he returned Snyder Group to her.
Yvette tightened her grip on the agreement, walked over to the shredder, and directly fed the papers into it, watching them turn into a pile of shredded paper.
“There’s no ‘letting the past be the past’. I meant what I said. I just don’t want to be with you anymore,” she stated. It was exhausting having to pretend to still love him when she had already given up. Yvette couldn’t wait to take Noah and disappear from Tirion forever.
Mark, who was standing by, was stunned. He quickly left the office and considerately closed the door behind him.
Xavier had thought that Yvette would be happy and grateful when he, out of his generous heart, returned Snyder Group to her. He hadn’t expected this outcome.
His deep eyes were full of cold sarcasm when he hissed, “Say that again!”
“It doesn’t matter how many times I say it. There are still 11 days left.” Yvette paused. “I hope you keep your promise after 11 days.”
She was talking about his promise to let Noah and her go.
Xavier’s patience vanished in an instant. “Fine. Very good!” He stepped closer to Yvette, cornering her before scooping her into his arms. “If there are only 11 days left, shouldn’t I enjoy our last days as husband and wife?”
As she was lifted in the air, Yvette had to lean entirely on him to avoid falling.
“We’re in the office!” she shrieked.
“Didn’t you use to seduce me in the office?” Xavier’s Adam’s apple bobbed. “Let’s do something different today. I wonder if you and Claude have tried it before.”
Yvette had no idea what he meant.
She watched as all the curtains were lowered, leaving only a dim light in the room.
At first, she didn’t understand what he intended to do, but as soon as she realized what he was up to, she shakily struggled to push him away.
Xavier leaned in to kiss her.

vomiting her guts out.
Xavier stood outside. As he listened to the sound of her retching, his expression darkened with anger.
Did she really despise him that much?
He lit one cigarette after another, only to stub them out in frustration.
Just as he was about to storm into the bathroom to confront Yvette about what about him she found so repulsive, there was a knock at the door. “Come in.”
With that, Mark entered the room. He felt somewhat awkward when he saw Xavier’s frustrated expression.
“Mr. Lane, these documents require your signature.”
“Leave them here.”
Before leaving, Mark glanced toward the bathroom and suggested, “M Lane, maybe your approach is wrong. Perhaps you should te Ms. Snyder that you are rebuilding Snyder Group’s headquarters.”
Demolishing and then rebuilding-it seemed only Xavier would do

something so outrageous. But then again, he had the money to do as he pleased.
He wanted to please Yvette, but he didn’t know how to communicate with her.
Thinking of Yvette’s look of disgust and the sound of her retching earlier made Xavier even more irritated. “Shut up! Get out!” “Yes, sir.” Mark quickly left the office.
After he left, the sound of running water from the bathroom stopped. Yvette soon emerged, and her eyes were still red.
