Lynn’s sarcastic remarks made Yvette return to her senses, and she looked toward Lynn.
Lynn was dressed formally, but she showed off her assets. Her face was small, and she was frowning a little. Jealously was etched across her face.
Yvette had seen her a couple of times in the past. Despite being a butler’s daughter, she
acted like she was a daughter of the Lane family.
Seeing how Yvette wasn’t answering her, Lynn thought Yvette didn’t have her hearing aids on. So, she kicked the dirty clothes on the ground to the side and kept insulting Yvette.
“You sure are shameless. I can’t believe a deaf bitch like you knows how to seduce men. You were acting so innocent before. Now, look at what you’re wearing!”
Looking at the luxurious clothes on the ground, Lynn stomped on them in front of Yvette. She was sure that Yvette wouldn’t dare to do anything about it.
That was how it had been like in the past, after all. When Lynn had been alone with Yvette, she had bullied the latter however she had liked.
However, Lynn didn’t know that Yvette wasn’t the same person who would endure everything for Xavier anymore. Yvette covered herself with a coat and got out of bed. Then, she slowly walked to Lynn. Lynn looked up at her and noticed she was wearing her hearing aids. She scoffed and said, Oh, so you could hear me all this while? I thought you were fully deaf.”
Right after the words fell, Yvette raised her hand and gave Lynn a loud slap across the face.▾
Lynn was stunned as her face heated up in pain. “How dare you hit me!”
Yvette felt a little pain in her hand. “That’s right. I did hit you. What are you going to do about
it?”
Lynn was so angry that she lifted her hand to hit Yvette back. However, Yvette reacted quickly and grabbed her wrist. Then, she slapped Lynn once more.
Lynn hadn’t expected Yvette to have become so bold and strong, considering how weak she
used to be.
Since Lynn was wearing high heels, she lost her balance and fell to the ground after getting slapped the second time.
She stood up while gritting her teeth. “Get the hell out of here, Yvette. You’re not welcome here.”
Yvette chuckled. “Do you really think you’re the owner of the house?”

Lynn was so angry that her eyes had turned red. “I might be a housekeeper, but I can still chase you out of here. Have you already forgotten what had happened during New Year’s Eve back then?”
Luther had worked for the Lane family for decades. Since Lynn had grown up with the Lane family, Clifford liked her a lot. All she had to do was cry in front of him, and she would be able to determine whether Yvette could stay there.-
Of course, Yvette remembered what she was talking about. Lynn had just cried a little and managed to chase Yvette out of Lane Mansion on the first New Year’s Eve after her marriage. Yvette had had to survive in the snow and almost hadn’t made it.
Since she didn’t have a strong background and had a disability, Clifford hadn’t cared about her at all. He preferred Lynn, who had grown up around him.
“You don’t have to cry in front of Mr. Lane Senior this time. I’ll leave right now.”
After Yvette spoke calmly, she changed into a fresh set of clothes and walked out as Lynn looked on. She confidently left the room, showing no trace of hesitation.
Lynn watched her leave from behind, and she was surprised for a long time. She hadn’t expected Yvette to really leave after just hearing a few words. She figured Yvette was just weak, and she finally stopped feeling so angry.
After Yvette had left, Lynn told someone else to throw all of her clothes away.
Lane Mansion was huge. Yvette took the path with the fewest people and reached the main
entrance.
Then, she called Ray, who answered quickly. “Ms. Snyder, I’m near Lane Mansion right now.” He had immediately returned to protect her after Andy had tried to kill her.
“Okay. I’m going to need you to pick me up.”
“Sure.”
