Chapter 43
Andrew, with a frown, said, “Not that one. The other one–helping each other deal with family.”
“Oh,” Alyssa responded briefly.
Andrew pursed his lips and continued, “My family will be calling via video chat tonight. You need to cooperate and take the call with me.”
Indeed, the reason he was so eager to bring her over tonight was to handle a video call from his family. This afternoon, as usual, his family had been relentlessly pressing him about marriage. In an attempt to get them to stop, he posted their marriage license in the family group chat, but they didn’t believe it was real. They insisted on seeing Alyssa in person before they would accept it.
He promised his family that they would video chat with Alyssa tonight, which finally got them to quiet down.
Hearing Andrew’s words, Alyssa instinctively checked the time on her phone. “It’s already nine–thirty at night. By the time we get to your place and settle in, it’ll probably be past ten. Are you sure your family will still call?”
“Yes,” Andrew confirmed. “They have quite the nightlife; ten o’clock is still early for them.”

Alyssa twitched her lips, wondering what kind of family this was where the elders had such lively nights.
After about half an hour’s drive, they finally arrived at Andrew’s residential complex–Edenrise Residences, another high- end community with great location and environment.
Although not as luxurious as Ocean Enclave, it was still beyond the reach of ordinary people.

w had come to Endale City under a hidden identity, so he had toned down his lifestyle significantly. Naturally, he couldn’t choose an overly luxurious residence: Edenrise Residences was just right–it was secure and suited his status as a successful entrepreneur who had just entered high society but wasn’t quite at the level of true nobility.

Andrew drove directly into the underground parking garage, then took the elevator upstairs.
Alyssa didn’t ask anything; she just followed closely behind him. Despite his lack of gentlemanliness, he did help carry her suitcase at the moment.
The elevator stopped at the eighth floor. Stepping out, Alyssa noticed it was a single–family unit per floor, which seemed quite nice!
Andrew used his fingerprint to unlock the door, saying as he did “You should also register your fingerprint.”
“Okay.” Alyssa nodded.
They entered the apartment together.
Once inside, Andrew immediately put down the suitcase and headed straight to the bathroom, seeming rather urgent.
Alyssa stood alone in the living room, looking around the spacious apartment. It was almost as large as the one her father had given her in Ocean Enclave, decorated in a modern minimalist style that was quite sunny. Unlike the dark and gray tones often described in novels about domineering CEOs, everything there was color–coordinated and well–matched as if designed by a professional.
What surprised her was how clean and tidy the house was. For Andrew, a man living alone, to keep the house in such order was unexpected.
When she was with Sean, he never did any housework. In his mind, and in the minds of his mother and sister, domestic chores were her responsibility.

Chapter 43
As she carefully examined the apartment, her phone rang again
Glancing at the caller ID, she saw it was Shannon.
With a smirk, she picked up the call.

Before she could say a word, Shannon’s furious voice came through the phone. “Alyssa, have you grown some backbone? Why didn’t you pick up any of my calls today?”
“Didn’t feel like it,” Alyssa replied calmly without offering an explanation.
