Chapter 29

“Good morning, beautiful,” Silas greeted her with a bright smile on his lips. He caressed her cheek and then kissed her forehead. “How are you feeling?”

His h*** dreaming?” She asked while staring at her surroundings. She was afraid that she would return to her own pack again, but from the look of it, it was not the case.

“No, you are not dreaming baby.” Silas caressed her hair. “You are here, with me.”

Cielle smiled, she closed her eyes, relishing his touch. He loved it whenever he touched her like this. His touch was comforting. Something that she was familiar with.

“Okay.”

After that, Silas introduced her to Keyla. Keyla was a young girl around the age of twenty, she looked so adorable with dimple on her cheeks and bright brown eyes.

She would be her personal maid, who would help with everything that she needed.

“I hope we will get along well. I will bother you so much in the future,” Cielle said, knowing that she would need help, a lot of help with her current condition.

Keyla shook her head. “No, miss. I will love to help you.” She gave Cielle the brightest smile when she said that.

“Thank you, Keyla. You are really helpful.”

Silas knew Cielle pretty well, mostly, she would get along with all people, but she chose Keyla specifically because they were

and because of Keyla’s personality. She would be a great company for Cielle when he was not around.

And now the problem with Kenan and her parents were done, Silas could focus on finding out about the cure for her illness. There was no way he would succumb to the verdict that she wouldn’t live for long.

Even if he had to cut himself open and give his heart blood all the time, he would do it without hesitation if it meant, she would live.

“I cook something for you,” Silas said in the afternoon, he brought a tray with chicken pie, something that Cielle would love

to eat.

Cielle’s eyes lit up and she giggled. “Look great.”

“Just like an old time?”

Cielle nodded. “Yes, just like the old time.” She tried to straighten her back to eat.

With that, Silas would surprise her with his cooking or with a bouquet of flowers, there was also time when he would leave for two days or three, saying that he had something to take care of.

Deep down, Cielle knew that he was trying to find a way to cure her. He said this was an illness, but for Cielle, this was not an illness. This was her fate.

And three months went by.

There was no recent news from her mother or father, they didn’t try to visit her, but there would be a letter or two every month, the last letter that Cielle received was a month ago, telling her that her mother was pregnant again.

Cielle didn’t know how to respond to that news aside from congratulating them. She felt like they abandoned her once again. It felt like she was being replaced.

They knew her time was short and it would be hard to mend thing between them, thus they gave up and started anew.

How nice it was to have all the time in this world to start fresh again.

Cielle cried that night when she read the letter and Silas would hold her tightly in his arms, telling her how precious she was and how much he loved her.

“You are irreplaceable, Cielle. Don’t say that.” Silas whispered to her car, as he kissed her earlobe. “Don’t say something like that. That’s not true. I love you.”

Kenan was a mess in the past three months, he did nothing, but to stare at the window and buried himself with work, he tried to distract his mind from thinking of Cielle, but it was hard, because in every breathe he took, he wanted to smell her scent, in everything that he touched, he wanted to feel her skin against his. He wanted to see her beautiful smile and the way she giggled.

It had been so long and the memories of her started to fade away, but not with his feeling.

His feeling only got stronger. The feeling of regret.

“How is she?” Kenan asked. “Any news?”

Daniel sighed. The beta didn’t know what to do with the alpha anymore. He was a lost cause now. “She is still alive, Kenan.” he said with a deep sigh.

“Great.”

That was all. Kenan only wanted to know whether Cielle was still alive. He really wanted to go to Silas pack and meet with her, but he knew it would be a fruitless attempt.

“Silas is still looking for any information that could help with Cielle’s condition. From the look of it, he is getting frustrated.” No nly Silas, Kenan also looked for cure for Cielle’s condition. He had been searching everywhere and exhausted his resources to find a sliver hope, but he couldn’t find any. He lost hope, but Silas didn’t seem to give up yet.

His determination was something that was admirable.

“Kenan… about Ensley…”

“I don’t want to talk about her.” Kenan cut him off even before he could finish with his word.

“She is going to die if you kept her like that for long.”

“Let her die.”

“Kenan, I do understand your frustration, but I don’t think it’s fair for…”

Once again, Kenan pinned his beta with a murderous look, which forced him to stop whatever words he was going to say to

him.

“I don’t care about her. Let her die for what she had done to my mate.”

“To be fair, it’s you, who fed her the poison.”
