Chapter 17

“How will you win this case, Silas?” Cielle asked, her voice was very soft.

Today she looked a little bit better than her usual self and tomorrow was the court. She insisted to come and she ate all of her food because she wanted to come, despite Silas told her that he could handle everything on his own and all she needed

was to rest

However, Cielle was stubborn.

“I have a few videos evidence to put Kenan in a bad light. He will not be able to take you away from me.”

“Silas, you don’t need to go this far…” Her complain was cut short when Silas put a piece of mango inside her mouth, this was her favorite fruit and Silas still remembered that.

“Don’t be silly.” Silas tucked away strands of her hair and caressed her cheek. “Just tell me that you will be with me and that’s enough for me.”

“I am going to die… Silas put another piece of mango inside her mouth.

“Don’t say that word. I am going to find the cure for you.” Silas lifted her head so their eyes met. He felt like someone clenched his chest tightly when he saw how lifeless her eyes were Cielle’s eyes used to sparkle beautifully and full of life. “I only need you to stay with me.”

Cielle looked sad. “I became a burden for you, Silas.”

Silas couldn’t hold it back any longer, he leaned over and kissed her lips. This must be the first time, Silas kissed her when she was awake and Cielle was stunned.

She didn’t know what to do when he pressed his lips against hers, but she didn’t pull away either. There was a familiarity in this kiss, as if they meant to be together it gave her a reassurance and calmed her nerves.

“You are not a burden for me, Cielle. Never will be.” He caressed the bottom of her lip with his thumb. “I am sorry for kissing you all of sudden and make you even more confused with the situation, but I don’t think you understood the depth of my feeling for you, Cielle. You are my everything.”

Cielle was not st**id, she knew that Silas had feeling for her and she thought she would end up with him too, but it obviously didn’t happen because she figured out Kenan was her destined mate.

That was why, letting Silas go was the hardest thing for her, the sacrifice that she had to do for her relationship with Kenan. She wouldn’t disrespect the bond between them by letting Silas to stand in the middle of them, therefore, they didn’t have any contact with each other for three years.

Yet, this was what she got from her loyalty to Kenan.

“I love you. You don’t need to answer that, you don’t need to reciprocate my feeling. To see you happy and well are more than enough for me, Silas said genuinely. “I only said that for you to know.”

Cielle lowered her head and continued her meal, they didn’t say anything for the rest of the breakfast, but that was one thing about the two of them, the silence between them was very comforting, as if it was very natural to be in each other’s presence.

Neither of them felt awkward nor felt the need to talk when there was nothing to be said.

After Cielle finished with her meal, Silas offered to walk around the apartment, where there was a small sky garden in the highest floor.

“Do you want to see it?” Silas asked.

Chapter 17

“Yes.”

Silas helped her to put jacket and then put the socks for her. He knelt down without any qualm, as he took care of her.

Cielle was sitting on the wheelchair, while Silas was pushing her from behind. Her face was no longer as pale as ghost.

“Tell me if you need something or feeling uncomfortable, okay? Silas wanted to make sure she was fine. Celine and the other warriors followed from behind, but they kept their distance from the alpha.

“Okay.” Cielle nodded. She fiddled with her hand and watched the city light from the sky garden, the sky was very dark, studded with the sky.

Thankfully the

the wind was not very cold and the sight was beautiful. It was a clear night.

“It’s beautiful.” Cielle forgot when the last time she felt this happy for small thing like this.

“You are more beautiful, Cielle, Silas said, as he knelt down beside her wheelchair and held her hand under the blanket.

Cielle chuckled and this sound was a song in his ears, it had been so long since the last time he heard her chuckling like this. “Did you realize that all the women, have been checking you?” Cielle pointed it out, since Silas didn’t seem to be aware of

that fact.

“No. I don’t know.” Silas kissed her knuckles and Cielle laughed when two women scrunched their brows, obviously looked unhappy for the way Silas treated her, but then, who were they to be unhappy about this?

“You will break a lot of hearts,” Cielle said playfully.

“I am willing to break more hearts if as long as its not yours.” Silas caressed her cheek, as she leaned against his hand.

“I don’t think this is right…” Cielle said. “I am someone else’s mate.”

S**’s gaze at her softened. “Put the blame on me, who didn’t allow you to leave my side. You can blame me for the kiss and/ the touch.”

“You are so nice, Silas. You can find someone else, someone better.”

“How could I find someone else when you are the perfect one for me.”

Cielle scrunched her nose. “I don’t know that you can be this cheesy.”

“Only for you, Cielle. I did this only for you.” Silas was always true to his word.

And the next day was the trial.
