Chapter 582
She began to imagine how grand her wedding with Nash would be. She envisioned herself as the happiest bride in the world.
Just then, Miranda heard footsteps and assumed it was the helper. “You don’t need to take care of things here. You can go,” she called out.
However, the footsteps did not stop.
She frowned, growing impatient. “I said you don’t need to…”
As she looked up and saw who it was, her eyes widened in shock. She quickly removed the face mask and stood up straight. “Dad.” “Miranda,” the man said, his eyes smiling as he looked at her. “It’s been a long time. You’ve grown into a fine young woman.” Miranda stood up and ran to hug him. “Dad, you’re finally out. I’ve missed you so much!”
The man was in his fifties and slightly taller than Miranda. He was still looking strong and fit. Patting Miranda’s head affectionately, he said, “You’ve been through a lot these past few years.”
“It’s nothing compared to what you’ve endured, Dad. Besides, I’m a star now. With the fame I have, I can take care of both of us,” Miranda replied.
Her father’s gaze turned serious. “I know you’re dutiful, but I don’t need you to take care of me. Our business isn’t finished yet. This time, I’m back to rebuild.”
Miranda’s expression darkened. “Dad, are you sure? So many people have died. Even if you’re out, the police will be watching you. It’s too risky!”
Her father looked at her and asked, “Do you still have feelings for Nash?”
Miranda lowered her gaze. “Dad..”
He smiled again. “Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been up to, including poisoning his wife. That poison was developed by Pharaoh. You got it from him, which means you’re tied to him. Miranda, we must repay our debts. I will work for Pharaoh for the rest of my life.” sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
Miranda did not want to step back into that nightmare. “Can’t I choose my own path for once?” Ads by PubFuture

“I saw your mother recently,” he said, changing the subject. “She’s still as foolish as ever, not understanding where she went wrong.”
Hearing this, Miranda’s eyes turned icy. “Why bring her up out of nowhere? I will never acknowledge her.”
“You were raised by me so I know your character well,” her dad said. “Once you’ve made a choice, there’s no turning back. Once your hands are stained with blood, it’s nearly impossible to clean them.”
Miranda had once tried to redeem herself by saving Nash. Those people, including her father, were imprisoned, but she remained unscathed and undetected.
Yet, for Nash, she found herself returning to her old ways. She knew there was no escape now.
If she wanted to survive and get what she wanted, she had to be ruthless and hard-hearted.
“I understand,” Miranda said, forcing a smile. “Dad, I’ll listen to you.”
He stroked her smooth hair, proud of the beautiful, radiant woman she had become. “Don’t worry. I still have leverage with Pharaoh. As long as you’re my daughter, he won’t be too hard on you.”
Miranda did not fully understand why the mysterious Pharaoh would show her leniency, but the fact that she had his poison indicated she had some standing.
