Chapter 195
Ella had tried making the dessert several times, but it just didn’t taste right. She was a
Just then, Jaden walked into the kitchen. “What’s going on?”
about to call Hazel to ask what she was doing wrong.
“Remember that dessert you like? Hazel made it once, and it was so soft, sweet, and delicious. Even though I’m not much of a sweets person. I couldn’t stop eating it. I wanted to make it for you, but no matter how I try, something’s just off. I followed Hazel’s recipe exactly, I was about to call her and ask…”
“It’s really good
Ella watched as Jaden picked up a fork and tasted it. “Is it? I feel like it’s missing something, she commented.
“Everything you make is good.”
Ella blushed, feeling a bit shy from the compliment. Her mind went blank, and she forgot all about calling Hazel. As long as Jaden didn’t mind, that was all that mattered. “Well, eat as much as you want” She had made quite a bit, thinking one plate would be enough, but to her surprise, Jalen finished every last bite.

Ella found herself thinking about other recipes. She finally understood why Jaden was always so willing to cook for her. There was something incredibly satisfying about seeing the food you made completely disappear and being praised for it. 1 should ask Hazel for some more recipes. She also makes amazing grilled ribeye.”
“Ella, you’re very pregnant. I’d feel better if you just rested. Cooking can wait.
“You’re right. We have our whole lives ahead of us. The most important thing now is taking care of the baby.” As Ella spoke, she felt a sharp kick in her belly. “He kicked me.” She pointed to her stomach, pouting slightly.
Jaden immediately took her side, promising to have a stern talk with the baby once he was born. “Daddy would never dream of hurting Mommy, so you better not either. Or you’re in trouble when you come out, little man. You better stay safe and sound. Your mom’s been through so much for you.”
“Ella, even if I’m not around, you’ll always have a man to protect you Jaden hesitated to look at Ella, his voice forced to stay casual. He couldn’t help but wonder. Will Ella forgive me for the baby’s sake? But how can she! She has once considered leaving me and raising the child alone
It had been so long since Jaden and Ella had a peaceful moment together. The last time was when he’d been pretending to be a fool. Now, he felt that closeness again, and he cherished it deeply. He was terrified that this dream would end. He wished he could freeze time right here, right now.
Ella’s thoughts drifted as she listened to Jaden, “Kyle called me today. He mentioned you’ve been spending all your time at home, barely going to the office, and it’s causing the company to miss our on some important bidh. They’re hoping you could spend a little more time at the office, ever just an extra hour or two. You’re with me all day, mostly doing video meetings and rarely going to the office. I can understand if they’re frustrated. Why don’t you start spending half a day at the office? It’s totally fine for me.”
‘If it weren’t for my pregnancy, I would have loved to go back to work at the company. Sometimes, when the leadership isn’t around, decisions aren’t made as efficiently, and opportunities can easily slip through the cracks. Jaden now seems to want to be with me every minute of the day. Doesn’t he ever get tired of it? Besides, I am in a stable condition now, and with so many servants and a family doctor on hand, they can handle any unexpected situation that may arise, Ella thought.
“Did Kyle actually come to you with this?” Jaden’s expression darkened.
“He’s pretty annoyed with me. Once the baby’s here, he’s in trouble. I’m a very petty penon, and I’ve got a long memory. I’ll find a way to get back at him,” said Ella.

“Am I on that list too!” Jaden looked at her.
“Of course! So if you ever mess with me again, I really won’t forgive you!” Ella spoke with all seriousness. She had already gone against her principles once to forgive Jaden. She chose to overlook his deception, his manipulation. She ignored his pushiness, threats, and demands. All because he risked his life to save hers, so she was willing to let it go. But if it happened again, she knew she couldn’t do it
When Jaden heard her say this, he pulled her into his arms, holding her so tightly. “I won’t he rasped. Those words were hard for him to say. He didn’t want to, but the reality might leave him with no choice.
“Good” Ella smiled, not realizing the seriousness of the situation. The past few days had been particularly busy for her. After all, there was only month left before the baby was due. She was just a few days away from full–term. She went for daily fetal monitoring, as the baby was on the smaller side, and she wondered if it was due to a lack of nutrition.
Ella started packing her hospital bag, afraid that labor might begin at any moment. Just as she finished packing, her phone rang. It was an unknown
mumber.
“Hello, who’s this?”

Chapter 195
“Ella, since you’ve decided not to keep your word, don’t blame me for what happens nexil jaden might want to kill me to keep me quiet, but that’s not going to happen. You’ll never be able to repay what you owe me, not in this lifetime! Don’t think that just because Mr. Willow is dead, I’ll let this
“What are you talking about?” Ella thought she must have misheard: her breathing quickened.
“Oh, you don’t know yer? Devin Willow’s dead”
Hearing her grandfather’s name, Ella shouted furiously, “Finn, what kind of nonsense are you spouting? My grandfather is fine. After this round of treatment, he’ll be better! If you keep cursing him, I won’t let you get away with it.”
“Ella, you’re so naive. Your whole life, you’ve been lied to! Harry lied to you, Jaden lied to you, and even your most trusted grandfather lied to you! He’s been dead for almost two months, and you had no clue. How pathetic is that?”
“That’s not possible. It’s not possible?”
“What’s impossible! This is all Jaden’s doing. He even tried to kill me to shut me up so I wouldn’t come to you for payback. You see how smart he is? Tell Jaden that I’m going to settle this score slowly. He should be ready.” With that, Finn hung up.
Ella collapsed onto the floor, her whole body shaking. The phone slipped from her grasp, clattering to the ground. She scrambled to pick it up, finally managing to hold it in her trembling hands. Her calls to her grandfather went unanswered. She couldn’t reach Cullen or even Hazel. At this moment, she needed someone to tell her what she had heard wasn’t true.
Ella bolted out of the room, running straight into faden. The sight of her made his blood num cold. “Ella, you’re bleeding. We need to get you to the hospital”
But Ella couldn’t hear what Jaden was saying. Seeing him was like seeing a lifeline. She gripped his arm tightly. “Tell me Grandpa isn’t dead. He’s not dead.”
“Ella:“Jaden’s pupils contracted in shock. “Who told you that?
Ella’s heart sank. She started shaking Jaden desperately. Why won’t you just say he’s not dead? He’s not, right? I need to book a flight; I need to go see him.”
Ella, like a madwoman, tried to run out, but Jaden held her back. “Elli, you need to go to the hospital! I’ll explain everything about your grandpa later.”
Ella looked at him with hatred, her eyes bloodshot, filled with shed tears. Deep down, she already knew the truth. Finn hadn’t lied. The fact that Jaden wouldn’t deny her grand father’s death already gave her the answer. Grandpa was goric
