Xavier went out at night.
Not long after he left, Yvette received a message from Ray. “Xawer is gone. Find a way to leave. I have something to tell you.”
Since the security at Dewberry Manor was tight, Ray’s only choice was to keep watch on Yvette from somewhere far away.
He needed to make sure Yvette didn’t get into any danger. Sometimes, he could also see whether Xavier was gone or not.
Yvette put her sheet music away and left the manor.
Once she was outside, she instructed the driver to make a lot of turns so they could lose the bodyguards tailing them.
Soon, she saw Ray’s car in front of her.
After getting out of the car, she got into Ray’s
“What is it?” she asked.
Ray grabbed his phone and used the GPS to navigate them to somewhere in the west of Tirion.
This is the direction that Xavier was headed in earlier today. I went on the same route and noticed that the security there was tight. I suspect that’s where he took Noah,” he replied.
Yvette closely examined the massive area.
“From what I can see, it’s too big of an area,” she remarked.
“Exactly.” Ray pulled out a brand new phone and gave it to her. “Use this phone from now on. Your current phone might have been tapped. Mr. Lander said he’d be back in a few days.”
Yvette took the phone. “Thanks.”
“He wants you to call him and let him know how you’re doing after getting this phone,” Ray added.
“Okay.”
Ray drove to a secluded part of the road that didn’t have any surveillance cameras. Then, Yvette made a call.
Claude picked up in no time. “How are you doing, Yvette?”
“I’m fine. Don’t worry. I’ll think of a way to find out where Noah is,” she hurriedly answered.

Her main concern was that even if they managed to find where Noah was, they wouldn’t necessarily be able to get him out of there. After all, she knew how smart Xavier could be.
“Okay. I was trying to ask if he hurt you or not.” Claude was standing on top of the highest building. The cold wind blew past him. It was early in the morning for him, and the sky was still dark.
He stood tall and unwavering. His firm upper body was covered in fresh wounds, and his handsome face was bleeding as well.
Yvette gulped. “No.”
“Wait for me. I’ll be there in no time.” Claude knew that she had to be hiding something.
“Okay. Don’t rush. I have backup with me: Nothing is going to happen,” she assured him.
Even though Yvette had no idea what kind of work Claude was doing, she knew that he was constantly in danger.
After ending the call, Claude went back into the room.
The doctor, Steve Smith, hurriedly bandaged Claude’s bleeding arm.
“Whoever did this must have really wanted to put you in the grave, Mr. Claude. Steve examined the wound on his arm, which was bigger than his palm and bleeding profusely.
There was a calm look on Claude’s face. His colorless lips parted as he replied, “Do you still think I’m the same pushover I was as a kid?”
“Mr. Claude, are you going to tell Mr. Lander?
Claude shook his head. “If he cared about me, he wouldn’t have let me wander around Tirion
for so many years. We can’t rely on anyone, remember?”
Steve nodded.
However, as he took care of Claude’s wounds, he grew increasingly distressed.
“You shouldn’t show yourself in public for the time being, Mr. Lander. It’s too dangerous,” he
warned.
“I can’t do that. I have to go back to Tirion.” Claude refused the suggestion immediately.
Steve knew that nobody could change Claude’s mind except for Yvette, so he didn’t say anything more. He simply focused on treating Claude’s wounds.
Not long ago, Claude had promised his father Benjamin Lander, that he would finish up a bunch of overseas projects.
But he had gotten severely injured before he could do so. He had to hurry up and deal with the
2/3
projects so that he could return to Tirion.
He couldn’t let Yvette stay in Tirion by herself anymore.
