Chapter 194
Harriet had never imagined having a daughter like Millie. If her daughter ever dared to behave in such a way, Harriet would surely break her legs. At that thought, she couldn’t help but let out a weary sigh

She had no idea what Louisa had become over the years. Was she a refined lady from a prestigious family? Or was she as boorish and unpleasant as Mille?
“Do you have any grudge against Mrs. Lowell? Simon asked curiously.
Joanna and I don’t get along. It’s not surprising that she’s not nice to me.” Not only Harriet. but also Logan. The Lowell family appeared to be very hostile toward her
Simon was surprised to hear that. Suddenly, he put his arms on the table and said mysteriously, “Millie, I know a secret of the Lowell family. Are you interested?
Millie took a sip of water. What was the secret of the Lowell family? She moved forward on the table, indicating that she was eager to hear every detail.
Simon laughed. “Gossip queen! It turns out that there’s no woman who doesn’t like to listen to gossip.”
“Weren’t you the one who wanted to share it with me?” Millie shrugged.
Simon leaned in and said, “In fact, Joanna..
Suddenly, Simon’s phone rang, interrupting the words he was about to say. Millie glanced over and saw it was a call from Patrick.”
Simon gave Millie an apologetic smile and said, “I have to take this call.”
Millie nodded. But what was he trying to tell her? The mention of Joanna lingered in her thoughts. Could the secret he knew possibly be related to Joanna?
After Simon answered the phone, he looked worried. Then, he stood up and said, “Got it.”
Millie looked up. “What happened?”
“My dad suddenly suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital.” He seemed calm about it. This kind of situation probably occurred frequently.
He was filled with regret and apologized. “I’m sorry, Millie. I can’t continue this meal with you.”
Millie immediately shook her head. “I’m not very hungry, either. I’ll accompany you to see Mr.
Harrison.”
“That would be great.” He smiled and seemed to brighten up a bit.

The restaurant wasn’t far from the hospital. When they ar ed, the ambulance had just arrived too.
le glanced at Patrick, who was inside the ambulance. He clutched his chest with one hand, his face drained of color.
Drawing from her memory of the symptoms that surfaced during the banquet, Millie promptly conveyed Patrick’s condition to the attending doctor in the emergency department.
“Alright. Please, family members, kindly wait outside.” Millie and the others were told to stop outside the emergency room.
Millie turned and saw the butler apologizing to Simon. “Mr. Harrison, I’m truly sorry. I failed to take proper care of Mr. Patrick Harrison.”
Despite feeling anxious, Simon didn’t blame the butler. “You go back first.”
The butler nodded, said nothing else, and then left.
Mille gazed at Simon, patting his arm. “He’ll be just fine.”
“Hmm.” Simon’s eyes darkened, and he sat on the chair.
He was silent, and it was the first time Millie had seen him like that. She sighed, walked to him, and gently touched his shoulder.
Simon looked up at Millie and said helplessly, “Millie, my dad is my only family. I have no other family members.”
Millie’s heart faltered. She had never asked about Simon’s family and had only seen Patrick before. She suddenly felt that Simon was fragile,
“He will be fine, don’t worry. I’m here.” Millie’s gentle smile was Simon’s greatest cource of
solace
He sat in the chair and locked eyes with her. His gaze was brimming with unspoken words.
Not far from there, Winston tightly held the prescription in his hand while he gazed at the intimate moment they shared.
