Chapter 174
Millie pouted. Although she missed the beginning of the conversation, she knew Terrence was criticizing her.
She had returned home drunk the previous night, so she new her parents had to take care of her every need.
Millie soon entered the living room. Terrence scoffed the moment he spotted her. Once he was certain she was fine, he grabbed his briefcase and headed to work.
“Drive safely, Dad!” Millie reminded, trying to appease him. Yet, Terrence didn’t even glance back. She pouted and turned to look at Julia, who frowned.
“Mills, focus on your work. Why did you drink so much? Here, I’ve prepared a hangover cure for
you. Take it and hurry to work!” Julia instructed.
Millie obediently nodded. “Got it, Mom.”
Julia let out another sigh as she lightly tapped Millie’s head. After that, she went off to work.
Lying on the couch, Millie felt disoriented and grappled with emotions she couldn’t put into words. Suddenly, she thought of Gideon’s greedy and disgusting face from the day before.
Her expression dimmed right away. Then, she took out her phone to send Marvin a message.
Millie: “Anderson Group is causing trouble.”
Marvin: “I understand, Boss!”
As daylight broke, Millie reckoned it was time for the Anderson Group to face bankruptcy.
Marvin took delight in doing this sort of thing. Whenever he was assigned such missions, he eagerly and enthusiastically executed them.
However, Millie was about to get into the car when she received Marvin’s message.
Marvin: “Boss, take a look at the news.”
Millie frowned in confusion. The news?
So, she got into the car, fastened her seatbelt, and checked the news.
“Breaking news from Yerwick City. As soon as the stock market opened this morning, all stocks under Anderson Group were in the red!”
Millie was astounded. Had their stocks crashed?
She co
continued to scroll downward, only to come across the headline that read, “Financial Chain Disruption Hits Anderson Group. Normal Operation Impaired.”
Millie narrowed her eyes. The problems with Anderson Group’s stocks and financial chain. occurring together weren’t a coincidence. Did someone target them beforehand?
She stroked her chin, her thoughts inevitably drifting to one person–Thomas.
Did Thomas notice Gideon’s arrogance the day before and worry that he might harm Millie, so he decided to protect her?
She received another text from Marvin.
Marvio: “Boss, I’ve looked into it. It’s a mysterious figure from overseas going after Anderson. Group”
Millie tilted her head. Someone from overseas?
Marvin: “Right now, Gideon and his son are going around, desperately begging for help from everyone to try and save the company. But I doubt they can succeed. This mysterious individual is coming in strong!”
Millie scrolled through the news again. Sure enough, all the online coverage was against Anderson Group. With the company on the verge of collapse, Gideon would be heavily in debt in less than 24 hours.
Millie: “Well, at least we don’t have to get our hands dirty.”
After sending the message, she headed to work,
Millie had just arrived at the cardiac surgery department when Lainey said, “Millie, you’re joining me for consultations today.”
Millie nodded and replied, “Coming, Dr. Quinn.”
At that moment, Yoel was drinking coffee. When he saw Millie, he pursed his lips and remarked, “Millie, make the most of your consultation with your mentor.”
But Millie couldn’t be bothered with him. His words were always dripping with sarcasm.
When Millie and Lainey arrived at the outpatient clinic on the fourth floor, the waiting area was already packed with patients.

The gazes of those seeking medical help we couldn’t bring herself to look at them. She couldn’t help but think that seeking medical care was one of life’s greatest hardships.
“You just stand beside me and observe. Don’t say anything. If you don’t understand, you can ask,” Lainey reminded her.
Millie nodded in acknowledgment.
Lainey added. “You’ll encounter all sorts of peat patients with emotional outbursts, don’t argue w
Millie hummed and replied. “Bot
