The maid entered the room and reported, “Mr. Jefferson, Mr. Ramoz is here with Ms. Ramoz.”
Upon hearing Henry’s arrival, Conner’s tension eased. But upon learning Clara had come as well, a cold smile crept onto his lips.

“Silly child, are you still trying to hide things from me? We know about your visit to Brooks Estate to see Sergio. But Conner loves you. He won’t hold it against you.”

“If you’re not feeling well, go upstairs and rest. Conner and I have matters to discuss.”
His words made Clara feel like she was falling into an abyss. If he left, she would lose her only protector
