Hearing this, Hallet opened his mouth slightly. It took him a while before he uttered a single word. “Okay”
Evan, who had been silent the whole time downstairs, suddenly placed his coffee heavily on the table. It made a heavy thud. The cup showed a faint crack, and coffee splashed out of it.
“You scared me! How did this coffee mug offend you?” Delilah patted her chest, then sat down on the other side.
Evan, dressed in a suit, was slender and looked like an otherworldly figure. At that moment, his brows furrowed deeply. His anger almost seemed to set his hair ablaze. Slapping the table, Evan said in a deep voice, “Did we raise her all these years just for her to degrade herself like this? Are there no decent men left in this world that she has to find a frail husband?”
Delilah, who had just sat down, was startled by Evan’s outburst. She patted her chest and gently chided, saying, “You old man. Rather than being angered by Cynthia, I was nearly frightened to death by you.”
Meanwhile, Liam finally recovered and stepped out of the car with the gift.
“Are you sure?” Cynthia asked contemedly.
Liam smiled faintly. “Yes. Let’s hurry. They’ve been inside for quite a while now, Let’s not keep Master Buckley and Master Garten waiting”
Hand in hand, the two walked through the corridor and entered the courtyard. Upon entering, Cynthia hurried straight to her masters and planted a big kiss on each of their faces. “Master Buckley and Master Garten, I’m back! Did you miss me!”
At this moment, Evan was still angry, and he maintained a stern expression “Stand properly. Don’t even think about getting away with this so casily.”
Without hesitation, Cynthia stood upright and guided Liam over to them. With a smile, she introduced him, saying. “Master Garten, Master Buckley, I believe you already know. This is Liam.”
Liam politely smiled and placed the gift he carried on the table, saying, “Hello, Master Buckley and Master Garten. I am Liam, Cynthia’s husband” The two looked at Liam with slight astonishment. From his appearance alone, he could be described as perfect. Liam was handsome and had a noble temperament. However, his lips seemed slightly pale. It seemed that Hallet was telling the truth. Perhaps Liam was indeed ill.
Delilah momentarily abandoned her usual elegance, and her mouth was slightly agape. She thought to herself, Liam is indeed good–looking. It’s no wonder he could captivate Cynthia so thoroughly.
Although Liam was accustomed to being stared at, he still felt quite awkward at the moment.
After a brief moment of surprise, Evan looked at Cynthia with a disappointed expression and asked, “Did you marry him because of his face?”
Cynthia hurriedly explained, “Master Buckley, it’s not like that. It’s a long story about our marriage.”
Evan snapped. “Make the long story short then.”
Cynthia could only briefly explain some details about their marriage, omitting some specifics.
Upon hearing this, Evan’s anger remained unabated. Although he could understand why the two didn’t inform them about their marriage, he still felt upset, as if the flower bud he had carefully nurtured was silently taken away with the pot. Therefore, Evan continued to regard Liam with a sour expression
Liam knew Delilah and Evan had reservations about him, and he wanted to speak from the heart to ease their concerns. Before Liam could say anything, he was interrupted. “Don’t say a word. No matter how eloquent you are, I still find you displeasing”

Evan said. “Stand aside.”
Cynthia could only stand beside Liam while pouting.
“Who told you to stand there? Go inside and stand there.” Evan was annoyed by the scene of them standing together.
Cynthia was worried about Liam and didn’t want to go in,
Liam rubbed Cynthia’s head and whispered softly, It’s okay. Listen to him.”
“I’m worried about you.” Cynthia hesitated, not moving.
“Do you think I’ll eat him?” Evan interrupted
“Be good. I’ll be fine, Liam coaxed softly.
Cynthia knew Liam had to pass this test to gain Evan and Delilah’s approval. Hence, she reluctantly turned and walked toward the house. Cynthia even snorted coldly when she passed by Evan.
Evan was fuming. Now, there were only three people in the courtyard.
Delilah had hardly spoken after she saw Liam’s face and physique. She mused. Why be choosy about Cynthia being with such a high–quality man? With his appearance, he’d be a sight to behold at home, illness or not. If he turns out to be incurable, maybe I could persuade Cynthia to let me use his body to nurture a parasite. I’m certain a parasite raised by such a man would be exceptional and distinctive.
Liam didn’t know what Delilah was thinking. He bowed deeply to the two masters and said in a sincere tone, “Master Buckley and Master Garten, thank you for raising Cynthia. I understand you’re upset that we didn’t inform you about our marriage. I’m here today to let you vent. I hope that you will give us your approval after venting your anger.”
