Chapter 59
Omega Dance Ceremony
“Where have you been Gabbie? We have to go?” Blair yelled.

“You have to get dressed. Your outfits on the bed.”
“But-
“Emery’s been itching to do your hair.”
“Gabbie!” Emery appeared wearing a petite flowy denim skirt and a white tube top.
She styled her hair into massive coils. She brought our dangling earrings and a black choker. Emery never missed an opportunity to dress up.

She sat me down and set my ponytail free. With all the buzz happening no one would listen to me about the beast. Would it come back after 1 hurt it?
“We don’t have much time. Were you with Kade?” She asked.
“N–no. Forget it. I’m sorry.”
“You’re going to look great! Blair’s dancing around the bonfire so we need excellent seats.”
“She is?”
“Yeah, Blair’s been here a long time.”
“Right. Glad I don’t have to dance though.”
Ten minutes went by quickly and then I was ushered to the bathroom to change. Emery and I were the last ones in the dorm. The whole school was supposed to be there. The entire student body showed up in the forest where a blazing fire rose above the trees. What if the wolf found us and had a feast?
“Why aren’t you dancing? You’re sort of senior.” I asked Emery.
The twelve omega girls chosen to dance spoke to our hospitality lecturer. The omega boys were on the instruments awaiting the girls to take their positions.
Topted out. It’s just nice to be appreciated. This ceremony acknowledges omegas and their importance to the pack. The outfits are amazing too!
It was true the whole school was here for us. I scanned the crowd for Kade. Usually, I got a little tingle
in my chest when he was around. I caught Alex instead. He winked at me. Heat rushed to my cheeks. I was suddenly conscious of how revealing my attire was.
“They’re starting!”

I struggled discretely which only made him tighten his hold on me. He dragged me from the table and my heart slammed forward. The next dance had started and the crowd was engrossed in the latest performance.
“Going somewhere?” Kade asked.
“Kade,” I breathed out.

He crossed his arm over his chest.
“Something wrong, Sanders?”
I frowned at him.
“You have five seconds to let go of my mate,” Kade said.
“You have an omega mate,” the beta laughed. “How amusing.”
Kade crossed the distance between us disconnecting. He shoved the beta several feet.
Igrabbed Kade’s arm to stop further damage.
“What the hell is wrong with you? You’re an embarrassment to the Sanders pack. How could you take an omega as a mate?”
“It’s not worth it.” I said.
Kade growled. His body vibrated and the beta wolf stumbled backwards as he clutched his head. A couple of people stared at the exchange.
“Stop,” the beta cried.
He buckled and hit the ground. I felt the effects of Alpha power and cradled my head too. I backed away from Kade and dropped the bottle and roll I had.
“Gabbie,” he said.
“I’m okay. Wasn’t that bad.” Even though it felt like my brain was coming out of my ears.
He helped me up and wrapped me in his arms.
“Get out of here,” Kade growled. “I don’t ever want to see your face.”
“I didn’t know you were here,” I said.
“I’ve been here the entire time. He’s a bastard. Are you okay?”
I smiled at him. He planted a kiss on my lips.
“I’m better now.”
“Fuck him. Everyone should know you’re mine by now.”

Kade tightened his hold on me and I sunk into his arms. I smiled. I didn’t mind that everyone was watching us. When the dance was finished a slow song streamed through a set of speakers. Kade placed his hands on my waist.
“You’re gorgeous,” Kade said.
I smiled at the ground.
“During the last ceremony, I didn’t have a mate. Now I’m here with you. It feels so right.”
Kade chuckled. “I remember watching you the entire night. I wanted you so badly.”
“Is that why you followed me?”
“You make me sound like a creepy stalker, Gabbie.”
“No, horny wolf yes.
He kissed the spot close to my ear and whispered, “You’re a tease, Gabbie. I miss you. I couldn’t wait to be done with training so I could see you.”
“I can’t wait for Battle Season to end.”
He sucked in his bottom lip and slowly released it.
“Be strong for me sweetheart. I have to fight Baxter in a few days.”
I frowned and he smiled.
“Don’t give me that face baby. Are you scared of losing me?”
“What do you think?”
“Feisty.” He caught my bottom lip between his teeth and pulled.
“Everything’s going to be okay.”
“I hope so Kade.”
“By the way, Athena came back with a verdict on the case.”
My blood ran cold. “She did? That wasn’t even a trail. I barely said anything, Kade.”
He shrugged. “Hopefully it’s nothing I can’t get you out of. The Moon Goddess knows I need my mater by my side at all times.”
He nudged his nose on my cheek and 1 giggled.
“Let’s get out of here,” he whispered.
“Let’s go.”
