Chapter 125 Losing Credentials
In Kate’s office.
Miles called Eric with a proud look, explaining what had happened earlier. He chuckled, “Eric, I’ve done you a big favour this time, haven’t I? You better compensate me nicely for this!”
On the other end, Eric’s voice was cold and indifferent, “Got it.”
After that, Eric hung up the phone.
But right after hanging up, a hint of coldness flashed in Eric’s eyes.
He had been working late into the night, but there were still tasks left unfinished. However, he had everything regarding Kate’s situation under his watchful eye.
How could Kate possibly be working alone so late, especially with Simon still around among their coworkers?
Kate had a hunch that Simon would show up. She stayed late, almost inviting him into her trap. When Simon eagerly arrived, Miles conveniently showed up too. Not only did Miles beat Simon, but he also took away his role as project lead.
Feeling the pressure from Miles, Lowe Group had no choice but to strip Simon of his project lead. position.
The subsidiary company Simon used to manage was taken away, and now the new one has been. snatched from him too.
Simon barely had time to react before he lost almost all control over these companies!
In just a few days, Simon lost all the power he had, and it really hit them hard financially.
That was why Kate was in such a great mood now.
After saying bye to Miles, Kate hopped into George’s car and went back to Summer Estate. She asked when Eric would be back and then turned around to go into the kitchen to cook noodle soup for him.
Once Eric got engrossed in work, he easily lost track of time, and it was likely he wouldn’t think to cat dinner that evening.
So when Eric returned to Summer Estate, he caught a whiff of a sweet and sour aroma.
His gaze instantly fell on the petite figure bustling in the kitchen, and his eyes softened.
“Ric, you’re back!
Kate’s face lit up with a smile as she emerged from the kitchen carrying a simple bowl of tomato and egg noodles–soup. She grinned and said, “Perfect timing! The noodle are just done. Come and dig in.”

Eric looked at the noodle soup, his eyes softened.
There were times when he had just married Kate, he had fantasised about scenes like this countless times.
His anorexia was severe, but when Kate was around, he subconsciously ate more. She was like his medicine; only she could heal all the loneliness and sorrow in his heart.
But during those three years, Kate was full of disgust towards him. She wished to be far away from him, to escape completely from his side. They had countless arguments, yet even when his anger threatened to overwhelm his reason, he still chose to indulge her
Luckily, it seemed things had finally taken a turn for the better.
Yet sometimes, Eric still felt an unsettling sensation in his heart at night.
He worried that all of this might just be a dream, and one day, when the dream ended or shattered, she would leave him..
But now, the bowl of hot–tomato and egg noodle soup in front of him felt undeniably real.
“Ric, give it a try. Does it taste good?”
Kate looked at Eric eagerly, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Eric grabbed his fork and scooped up a noodle, savouring it slowly.
The noodles had just the right texture–firm yet smooth–and the sweet tang of tomato and egg made them really tasty.
Knowing Kate had cooked it herself made Eric feel it was the best food he’d ever had.
