Chapter 179 Missing
Patricia returned to the hotel and hurried to the conference room. She pushed the door open and shouted. “Oh no! Emelie has gone missing!”
Everyone who was preparing to summarize the day’s work turned to look at her.
Samuel stood up abruptly. He had just finished dealing with matters in the lab and returned to Wimstour City. He hoped to see Emelle return from work. Instead, h with the dreadful news.
“What did you say?” Samuel shouted.
Patricia’s acting skills were impeccable. “Today, we went to several sites to collect data. After finishing, we prepared to return to the hotel.
“Emelie suddenly said she wanted to use the restroom. But after half an hour of waiting with the driver, she didn’t return.
“I felt something was wrong, so I went to check the restroom, but she wasn’t there at all! Her phone is switched off tool
“I searched nearby but couldn’t find her, so I hurried back to find you. Let’s organize a search party to find her!” Patricia urged.

Samuel asked, “Which location?”
“The site at Opulent Road.”
Samuel left immediately.
William frowned and stared at Patricia, seemingly lost in thought
Jayden also frowned. “This is suspicious. Emelie wouldn’t wander when she had work commitments. Let’s organize a search party first Alexis, you handle it.”
Alexis, being Jayden’s secretary, took charge
William then said, “Ashton, go and help arrange for it.”
With others handling the search, Jayden, William, and Patricia stayed at the hotel awaiting news.
Almost an hour later, there was still no word from any arch teams.
Regardless of their personal relationships or simply being colleagues, a woman going missing was undoubtedly a cause for concem.
“Let’s call the police,” Jayden suggested.
he was greeted
William, seated at the head of the table with his hand on his forehead, responded indifferently, “No need. Let’s find her first Emelie is an adult with basic self–defense capabilities.

Jayden frowned. “What if she’s been kidnapped?”!
William countered by saying, “What value does she have to warrant someone going through all the trouble of kidnapping her?”
Jayden couldn’t help but glance at William.
Emelie had been so close to him. They were practically married before. Now that she was missing, why wasn’t he concerned for her safety? Wasn’the deeply concerned just a few days ago?
Patricia was seated in another spot and said, “Besides, if an adult goes missing for less than 24 hours, the police won’t start a search, right?”
Jayden picked up his phone. “I’ll have Alexis gather more people from the site to assist in the search.”
Patricia also grabbed her phone. “I’ll make some calls too, see if anyone can lend a hand…”
As she stood up to leave, William rose from his seat. “Come with me.”
Patricia paused. She couldn’t leave anymore, so she bit her lip and obediently followed him
William left the conference room, and his expression suddenly turned cold. Stepping into the corridor, he headed straight for the secure passage.
He forcefully pushed open the door, with Patricia trailing behind him. “Mr. Middleton, what are we doing here…
Before she could finish her sentence, William grabbed her arm and flung her into a co

a. comer

Patricia staggered back a few steps and nearly fell. As she regained her balance, William’s sharp words hit her. “Where is Emelle?”
Patricia’s eyes flickered, but she acted calm and said, “I don’t know.”
William stared at her with a sharp gaze, leaving Fatricia breathless.
“In the forest to the east,” Patricia finally admitted.
William’s expression tumed stem. “You left her alone in the woods?”
Patricia shrugged nonchalantly. “Tasked the locals. There are no venomous snakes or insects in the woods this season.
“It’s only been an hour. She’ll be fine even for another hour–Why are you looking at me like that? I’m just giving you a chance to be the hero.”
