Chapter 153
Brendan’s explanation made Naomi respond carelessly, “If you want to piss me off, don’t tell me then!”
Brendan looked at her. “Do you not understand what I’m getting at?”
Other than not apologizing explicitly, Brendan thought that he was being obvious enough.
Naomi extricated herself slowly from his embrace and walked away to open the door. “Your back has gotten better, right? Alright, go back to your room.”

It was up to him to decide to whom he wanted to give his things. But she would remember the way he looked at her today for the rest of her life.
Thus, he shouldn’t treat her like a three–year–old child and follow up punishments with sweet rewards.
Not to mention, he hadn’t even rewarded her at all.
As Naomi opened the door, Brendan felt like he was going to choke on his breath.
He stared at Naomi for a while before turning away, leaving her glaring at the back of his head. “I haven’t recovered yet.”
On the other side of the door, Naomi stopped indulging him. She took a slipper off and threw it at him.” You’re playing at being shameless here, aren’t you?”
Naomi’s slippers whacked onto the back of Brendan’s head. He turned around again.
Looking at the slipper by his face, he picked it up and threw it on the floor with an icy expression. He tried to remain patient as he said, “Naomi, I’m already explaining to you.”
The subtext was that he was here to reconcile with her.
Naomi couldn’t be bothered to pay attention to him. She gestured for him to get out.
Brendan stared at her motionlessly. In the end, he got out of bed abruptly. “Fine, I’ll go.”
She didn’t care to see him, and he didn’t want to stay here anyway.
Only when he arrived in front of Naomi, he stopped walking.
Following this, he bent down to pick her up from the ground and kicked the door shut.
Her back fell into the soft bed. As Naomi raised her leg to kick Brendan, he used both hands to grab her wrists. He then pressed his right leg onto her, securing her in place.
Naomi’s expression soured.
If everyone knew, then being a lawyer wouldn’t be fun for her anymore.
She glared at Brendan as she struggled. “Brendan, what are you trying to do?”
In the afternoon, he gave her sullen looks because of Chloe and sought her out at night multiple times. He was so skillful in two–timing.
Chapter 153
When Naomi stopped chasing him out every time she opened her mouth, Brendan said, “With this personality of yours, what else can I do?”
Initially, he wanted to do a little something with the boost of courage that alcohol gave him. However due to someone seemingly having swallowed a nuclear bomb, she refused to listen to anything he said.
When Naomi raised her leg, Brendan’s face darkened. “Do you really think I can’t beat you up?”
Then, he held her closer. “Let me hug you for a bit, I won’t do anything else.”
Naomi naturally believed that Brendan would keep to his word. After all, it had always been her who wanted to do anything.
Naomi said, “You either go back to your room or go to the couch. The choice is yours.”
“Which part of you haven’t I seen or touched?”
Naomi nearly lost her ability to take her next breath. She moved her foot to kick his private parts, but
Brendan managed to block her with his quick reflexes.
He then pressed her into his chest and turned the lights off. He closed his eyes with his arms around
Naomi.
At this moment, Brendan understood more clearly than anyone that this momentary peace was obtained
by his shamelessness.
As she looked up at Brendan, Naomi said, “Brendan, how have I never noticed that you’re so shameless?” Brendan nuzzled his chin in the crook of her neck and said, “I learned it all from you.”
