Chapter 191 Encounter At The Bar
Clearly, that person had seen her as well.
“Well, isn’t it the renowned Dr. Thorne?”
Lysander observed the spirited young man in front of her. The lad had vibrant red hair, wore a leather outfit, and even sported a flashy earring on one car.
In just a few days of not seeing him, he had gone from being a sharply dressed secretary to reverting to his original state.
“Leo.”
“You still recognize me?” Leo nonchalantly slammed his pool cue onto the ground, leaning against the pool. table with a devil–may–care attitude. He tilted his chin up and squinted his eyes. “Whether you know me or not, I’ve been meaning to settle my sister’s score with you.”
Lysander averted his gaze, glancing over at Michelle who was standing not too far away, leisurely holding a
CUC.
“Michelle, come here.”
Michelle obediently nodded. “Okay.”
However, Leo skillfully extended his pool cue, blocking Michelle’s path. “Dr. Thorne,” he said, “this young lady promised to play a few rounds with me. She can’t leave just yet.”
Lysander was slightly angered. “What? Are you planning to kidnap her in broad daylight?”
“I didn’t force her. She came with me willingly, didn’t you, missy?”
Michelle’s face was flushed, her eyes barely open. She was clearly groggy still, but luckily, she could still recognize Lysander. She gave the latter a mischievous grin and said, “Lysander, this guy here says he’ll teach me how to play pool. I’m over basketball now. I’ve decided, starting from today, I’m going to love pool!”
Lysander wore a look of frustration, walking over with the intention of pulling her sister over, but Leo lightly. tapped her arm with the cue. “What are you doing. Dr. Thorne?”
It was immediately apparent that he was a regular in such venues, handling the cue with ease. The tap was far from gentle, leaving a bruise on Lysander’s arm.
Lysander looked at him and said, “What happened between Lysanne and me has nothing to do with my sister. If Lysanne has any issues, she should come to me directly, instead of hiding behind a man like a coward.”
“Fine, just you wait. She’ll be here soon.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than Leo turned his attention to the billiard lounge entrance behind Lysander. In his excitement, he waved his hands. “Lysanne, Josiah, over here!”
When Lysander turned around, she happened to see the two of them.
Josiah carried an air of defiance about him, striding forward with purpose. Meanwhile, Lysanne trailed behind him, taking smaller steps as she hurriedly tried to keep up.
When Josiah walked up to Lysander, he stopped and glanced toward Michelle, who was not too far away.

Finally, his gaze settled on Leo. “I’ve brought Lysanne. I’m leaving her with you.”
Lysanne reached out to grab his hand. “Josiah, please don’t send me away,” she pleaded. “I promise, I won’t touch any of your things in the future.”
Josiah ignored her.
His gaze remained fixated on Lysander.
“Why are you here?” Josiah’s voice was laced with a hint of anger. “Do you know what this place is? This is not a place you should be!”
From a young age, Lysander had always been a diligent student and a well–behaved child.
She had only been to a bar once before. It was during her senior year of high school when Daphne had disappeared and she had accompanied her teacher to the bar to look for her.
However, they didn’t find her in the end.
As a result, she had never truly been to a place like this before.
“I’m here looking for my sister,” Lysander said. “I’ll leave as soon as I pick her up. Michelle, come over here. It’s time for us to go home.”
Upon hearing the word “home,” Michelle shook her head vehemently. “I’m not going back. If I go back, Mom and Dad will scold me again. I’m so embarrassed. I can’t go back.”
“Michelle!!”
“Lysander, I’m begging you. Please don’t take me back. You promised me. You said I could let loose for a day. you promised.”
Leo was off to the side, grinning at the spectacle. “Dr. Thorne, do you see it now? It’s not that I’m not letting her go. It’s your sister who refuses to leave.”
Right then, Josiah took a step forward, positioning himself in front of Lysander and opposite Leo. “Leo, stop this nonsense.”
Leo gave a sheepish grin. “Josiah, would I dare cause trouble in your presence? These days, our whole family is relying on you. Even my aunt and uncle treat you like a god. I certainly don’t have the guts to mess around.”
Then let her go.”
Leo spread his hands out. “I didn’t say I wouldn’t. You saw it yourself, it’s her sister who refuses to leave, not me forcibly stopping her–Ouch! Josiah, it hurts!”
