Chapter 167 Setting Eyes On Lysander
Michelle, too, witnessed the scene, pointing in surprise to the distance, “Lysander, isn’t that…”
“Mich!” Laura interrupted her sharply, a frown creasing her brow.
Michelle withdrew her gaze, innocently looking at Lysander, biting her lip without saying a word.
Laura said in a cold tone, “You’re an adult now. Stop being so noisy all the time. The adults are talking. Show some respect.”
Η
Michelle understood her mother’s intentions, obediently nodded, and then apologetically stuck her tongue out at Lysander.
Lysander lightened the mood with a smile, intervening for her sister. “It’s okay, Mom. You guys continue talking.”
With a hint of worry, Laura gently patted Lysander’s hand. “Maybe you should go first?”
Camila quickly asked, “What’s the matter? Is Lysander feeling unwell?”
Laura casually came up with an excuse, saying, “This child has always suffered from motion sickness since he was young. Lysander, why don’t you take a walk outside and get some fresh air?”
Lysander really wanted to say she was okay. Seeing Josiah and Lysanne, she couldn’t say her heart was as calm. as still water, but at least, she was no longer casily disturbed.
However, Zachary stood up abruptly. “Mom, you guys continue chatting. I’ll take Lysander out for a walk.”
Camila’s smile instantly became somewhat teasing and playful. “All right, it’s been quite a few years since you two last met, hasn’t it? You young folks have plenty to catch up on. No need to stick around us old–timers.”
Immediately, Michelle stood up. “Then I’m going too!”
Meanwhile, she was continuously giving Lysander suggestive glances.
Lysander understood and said, “Zachary, today is Mdm. Camila’s birthday. As her son, you can’t just leave the party. I’ll have Michelle accompany me for a walk outside.”
Michelle nodded her head, much like a chick pecking at grains.
Upon hearing that, Laura nodded in agreement. “That’s a good idea, Mich, spend more time with your sister and try not to be so mischievous all the time.”
“I understand, Mom. Lysander, let’s get going…” Michelle could hardly wait any longer.
She grabbed Lysander’s hand and rushed out.
Watching the receding figures of the two sisters, Laura felt a mix of relief and worry. “Look at my two girls. One is so mature and sensible that she hardly seems like a young woman. The other is so lively and spirited as if she’ll never grow up.”
Camila, on the other hand, looked on with envy in her eyes. “How wonderful. I’ve always been quite envious of your two daughters. Remember, Laura, we’ve made a promise. I consider myself a second mother to these girls. Who knows, I might even have to partake in the wedding ceremony in the future.”

Camila had essentially made her point clear with those words.
However, when it came to that matter, the girl’s parents always tended to worry a bit more than the boy’s
parents.
With a cheerful smile, Laura gently declined, “Well, as you’ve seen, our little Mich is still so young at heart. Lysander’s job takes her far from home, and we just hope that Mich can stay closer to us in the future…”
“Goodness, Laura, what kind of person do you take me for? Mich is still so young, not even of legal marriage age, right? Zachary, that young man, is almost thirty. I can’t possibly wait that long.”
Laura was somewhat taken aback. “What do you mean by that?”
Camila let out a sigh, her eyes crinkling in a warm smile as she took Laura’s hand. “Let’s not beat around the bush. We’ve known each other for a long time. I’ve taken a liking to your daughter, Lysander.”
Not only Laura, but even Maverick was taken aback.
“Lysander? Our Lysander is already married…”
“Didn’t she have a divorce?” Camila leisurely sipped her coffee, gently set it down, and softly said, “I’m not that old–fashioned, you know. It’s quite common for young people to marry and divorce these days, isn’t it? If they’ve split, it simply means they weren’t compatible. There’s nothing dreadful about that. I’ve taken a liking to Lysander, that child. She’s gentle, generous, dignified, and beautiful. My only regret is that I was a step too late. If I had spoken to you earlier, perhaps Lysander wouldn’t have had to go through that period…”
“Mom!” Zachary’s expression was uneasy. “Didn’t we agree to keep quiet about this for now? How could you…”
