Chapter 64 If Josiah Turned Around
Lysander was taken to the central hospital.
The surgeon was Sergio Foreman, whom she was familiar with. After examining her, he said, “Don’t worry, there’s no problem with the bones. It’s just some sprains and abrasions. I’ll prescribe some blood-activating and stasis-resolving medicine for you. Don’t take a shower for a week.”
“Thank you.”
“No problem. Who wants to go with me to the pharmacy to get the medicine?”
Daphne stood up immediately, but Adrian was faster. He said to Daphne, “You accompany Lysander. I’ll
go.”
Since it was the hospital where he often worked, Lysander didn’t go to the surgical clinic but went straight to her office.
Daphne squatted on the ground while looking at the abrasions on her calf and said, “What’s wrong with you? She could drag you to commit suicide. Why did you save her?”

Lysander smiled bitterly. “I didn’t intend to save her.

“You say you didn’t save her? I heard the onlookers say that you could have run to the other side, but you came back to block her to save that b*tch”
“I didn’t block her. I… something fell.”
“What’s so important that you had to go back?” Daphne looked puzzled. “Isn’t saving your life the most important thing at this time? Why do you care about other things?”
Lysander opened her palm to show her. “This.”
“This is…” Daphne understood as soon as she saw the thing and her face turned a little distressed. “Why are you still keeping this?”
“I left in a hurry and forgot to give it to him.” Lysander smiled and said. “This wedding ring is quite expensive. It costs tens of thousands. It was bought after getting the marriage certificate, so it’s considered marital property. If Lysanne asks me to compensate in the future, I can’t afford it.”
Daphne was speechless. “Don’t let her lead you astray. Even if it’s lost, so what? Just let her sue in court. She will fight for the ex-wife’s wedding ring. Let’s see if Josiah can afford to be embarrassed.”
“I don’t want to have any more dealings with her. I want to cut her off cleanly and don’t want to leave her any leverage.”
Daphne chuckled. “True. With the way she’s making a scene today, getting involved with her is not a good idea. She doesn’t care at all about Josiah’s reputation.”
Just then, Lysander’s phone rang.
Daphne asked, “Who is it?”

Lysander frowned. It was Josiah’s mother, her ex-mother-in-law, Susan.
“Hello?”
“Lysander, it’s me.”
Lysander paused for a moment, then called out, “Mrs. Guerra,”
As soon as this title came out, there was silence on the other end of the phone as well.
After a long time, Susan sighed helplessly. “Child, I don’t blame you for changing your address. This matter itself is our family’s fault to you. I heard you were injured. Is it serious?”
“It’s not too serious. It’s just a minor injury.”

“I sent back everything you sent me in its original form. I understand your intention. I know that don’t want to drag things out and want to cleanly break ties with the Guerra family. I don’t know how to express my apologies…”
“Mrs. Guerra, it’s not your fault. You don’t need to apologize.”
“It’s still related to me. When you all came back to eat together, I solemnly told you that Josiah and Lysanne were just good friends. I really didn’t expect them to-”
Lysander smiled and interrupted her, “Things have already developed to this point, so saying these things is useless. Mrs. Guerra, you have been very good to me these past few years, I know that. Josiah is Josiah, and you are you.”
“Lysander, I know this may sound selfish, but I still have to ask. If Josiah were willing to change his ways, would you still be willing to accept him?”
“Did Josiah say anything to you?”
