Chapter 100
Katy POV
Our next task was to showcase our hunting skills. We were standing in the training hall.
After Ace had come back with me from the tour, Luce had made sure that she kept an eye on him. Rebecca, too, never missed a chance to be with him, always ensuring that she stayed by his side. Though Ace was always surrounded by girls, he had his eyes on me. With each passing day, his confidence grew, prompting him to initiate conversations and connect with the girls and others.
I could see how Beau was jealous of Ace. He would do his best to ridicule Ace publicly about his decisions, but I wouldn’t have it. I always gave a nice rebuttal to Beau.
The emcee coughed on the mic, and my attention drew to him. “The hunting will take place in the forests that surround the Viking pack. Once you’ve shifted, you can’t shift back to your human form until you are back. Is that clear?” He scanned all of us and ! wondered what kind of stipulation was that? “The time for the hunt is three hours. If you can’t find anything, please return.”
“We are going to stay together!” Alicia said. Over the last few days, more and more girls were interested in being my friend.
“Sure,” I said. I wanted all of us to stay together for the hunt because I wasn’t sure of Rebecca’s intentions.
We all collected at the edge of the forest where I saw Ace standing with his parents, but staring at me. His eyes conveyed encouragement. Ever since he had said that he will dream more of me, I couldn’t help but anticipate his next move.

As soon as the whistle blew, I gave way to Ara. She came out with a dangerous snarl, full of excitement and energy. After being confined for so long, she was filled with an overwhelming eagerness to sprint through the forest. Ara turned to look at Ace. She wagged her tail at seeing our mate. ‘He’s so handsome, she said, drooling over him as he watched her with admiration.
‘You better not go to him!‘ I warned.
‘I won’t,’ she said and took off to the forest.
As Ara ran inside, I heard others shifting and joining me on the hunt. A large number of girls followed us. Cool wind rustled my fur. I felt liberated, next to nature, and free. Ara’s excitement was unmatched. She was clearly the baddest she–wolf in the crowd.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of a petite black wolf with subtle gray stripes on her head darting a few feet away from me. That’s Rebecca, Ara informed./
Surprise jolted through me. How could an alpha wolf have gray fur? Gray fur belonged to the rogues.
Rebecca turned her head towards me and peeled her lips in a snarl. Ara growled back at her and Rebecca winced. She veered left while Ara continued on the straight path.
We came across a herd of deer, but she didn’t want to hunt them. Ara was interested in a bigger kill. She spotted a boar an hour later. Hunting a boar wasn’t easy. It required the pack to work in a coordinated way. Ara was a born leader. With the help of other she- wolves, she brought the boar down in less than thirty minutes and dragged it all the way back to the edge of the forest where the royal family was waiting.
King Soren’s eyes widened in surprise as he witnessed my successful hunt, while Queen Cassie and Luce shot me disapproving glances. When I shifted back, I was taken aback to find Ace standing there, extending a robe for me to put on. “That was impressive,”
he said.

“Thanks,” I replied with a blush. “Ara, my wolf, loves to go for larger kills.”
“My wolf wants to meet Ara,” Ace said, staring intensely at me.
I bit my lip. “Ara wants to meet your wolf.”
“Ace!” Luce’s sharp voice broke our connection. “Look what Rebecca brought?”
Ace turned to look back and cocked his eyes when he saw five dead squirrels lying in front of Rebecca. “She hunted that?” he asked.
“Well, what did you expect?” Luce hissed as Rebecca shifted and wore her gown. “She was alone. How could she risk her life hunting for anything bigger? One has to save oneself and not be an idiot to hunt something bigger for a competition just to show off. The
idea was to hunt and not show off!”
“No,” King Soren snapped. “The idea was not just to hunt. It was to show that your tracking and hunting skills are crucial for survival and leadership in the pack.” He turned to look at me. “Katy has demonstrated that she worked with a group that was akin to a pack to hunt that boar. She led her pack to victory and brought a huge kill that would last for months as against the-” He looked disdainfully towards the squirrels. Shaking his head, he added, “Katy is the winner.”
The girls behind me went wild, which was unexpected. We were all competitors, yet the competition was healthy.
“So, does that mean Katy will spend the evening with Alpha Ace?” Alicia asked.
“Yes,” King Soren replied with a soft smile.
Ace grinned.
I blushed.
Rebecca looked like she would murder me. She stomped out of the area with Luce running after her.
In the evening, when I came to the party, I found Ace waiting for me. He offered me his arm and said, “You look gorgeous!”
“Thanks,” I giggled. Interestingly, other than Alicia, Luce, and about a dozen contestants, there was no one else. Even the king and queen weren’t there. I wondered where Beau was. Rebecca’s absence wasn’t even noticed.
Ace led me to a decorated gazebo in the center of the garden, where he pulled a chair out for me and made me sit before he rushed to his chair. As soft music floated in the air, the servers served us dinner.
“You’re becoming a popular choice,” he said to me.

“I don’t know…” I said. “But I hope so.”
“Why?”
I locked my eyes on his beautiful face. “Because I’ve left you wild for a long time. Now I won’t.”
For the entire dinner, he didn’t take his eyes off me. In the end, when I was about to leave, he whispered in my ear, “I dreamed of
eating your pussy.”
Shit! My clit throbbed again. “I’ll be waiting,” I whispered back. Was the spell weakening this fast?
I returned to my room and wore my sexiest lingerie. Excitement for the night surged through me in waves. I wanted Ace with me, in

me, and wrapped around me.
A heavy knock sounded on the door, and I ran to open it. However, the moment I opened it, two strong hands pushed me inside. I fell on the floor with a shriek. When I snapped my head to look up, I saw five girls had entered my room. Rebecca headed to the front after closing the door. She had a baseball bat in her hand. “You’ve been a pest!” Saying that, she swung the baseball bat in my direction, aimed at my head.
In response, I quickly ducked and avoided the hit. “Are you mad?” I shouted.
“No, b*tch!” she snarled and swung it again. This time, the bat hit my sides, and I screamed in pain. “Attack her!” she yelled, and in an instant, all the girls attacked me at the same time.
