Chapter 90
Katy POV
Since I was not registered, I was sure I didn’t have a room and so I didn’t know where Ace was taking me. I just followed him. He took an elevator to the fifth floor, where there were just two suite-like rooms. The sixth floor was like a penthouse, though I don’t know whether you can call that a penthouse in a castle and it overlooked the fifth floor rooms.
Ace took me to the room on the left of the corridor and punched in the code. As soon as the door opened, he pulled me inside, kicked it close and, grasping my waist, picked me up. “Ace!” I squeaked as he carried me through more rooms and finally into a large bedroom. He set me on the mattress and slammed his lips on mine, kissing me wildly, urgently, madly, desperately. And goddess-1 matched his fervor.
Staying away from him for a day wasn’t something I was ever concerned about because I used to go hiking whenever I needed to clear my mind, but this time, staying away from him felt like I could lose him.
I opened my mouth for him and delved into his tongue inside, exploring my mouth like he was doing it for the first time. Our tongue was wrapped in a symphony of love. He was dominating me and I loved his dominance. It felt like I needed him more than I needed air to breathe. He grinded his hard shaft on my belly indicating how desperate he was. And g ods, how I loved the feel.
When Ace pulled away, we were both gasping for air. “Katy…” he whispered and buried his face in my neck, pressing me with his weight. I entwined my fingers in his soft hair.
“How did I get this room?” I asked between breaths.
He grazed my neck with his fangs where his mark would sit, and I shivered. “Access to this floor and the one above is usually limited to special private guests. Since all the contestants already had the floors below, this was the only option left.”
I narrowed my eyes at him. Why was I feeling that he was lying? This was where he wanted me to be. Alone and all by himself.
I chuckled. “How are you going to explain my presence to your parents, Ace?”
“They won’t even notice,” he said, lifting his face and kissing my jawline. “There are about fifty contestants already. And for the record, your name is now in the register.”
Jealousy ripped my chest with its dark dagger. “I think you’ll end up with fifty dead bodies tomorrow morning,” I hissed.
I was expecting him to laugh, but solemnly, he said, “Do you want me to help you?”
F uck. How could a wolf be so perfect? “Nope, I can manage it,” I replied with a smile. “Besides, I have a competition to win, not to kill. I have to show them all that I am the Luna. Best to be Alpha Ace’s wife.”
“You don’t have to show them, Katy. You are the best,” he said with admiration in his eyes.
“You think I can’t compete?” I said in a challenging voice.
“No, love. I think we don’t need this sh it. I am ready to give up this position for you.”
I cupped his cheeks. “Well, then you have news for you, Alpha Ace Norton. I am going to be your Luna, this way or the other!”
And this time, he laughed. “I don’t doubt that at all.” He slammed his lips on me again and resumed our kiss. Constant buzzing on his phone made him break our kiss. “Yes, father,” he said, his demeanor stiffening. He listened to his father and after ending the call, he got up. “I have to go, Katy. There’s a dinner for the contestants in the Rose Bowl of the castle in an hour. Dad wants me to help my mom and sister with it!”

“Go…” I murmured, my shoulders becoming taut with tension.
38%
“I will send someone to give you the entire schedule of the contest. If you need help, let me know. I am always there.” He cupped my cheeks. “There’s no need to worry.” He winked. “I’ll always make you the winner.”
I burst out laughing as my eyes widened. “Cheater!”
He shrugged. “I’d do anything to marry you, Katy. Anything!” With that, he pressed a chaste kiss on my lips and left. “See you for dinner!”
Lily and Lilian came along with my guards, who carried my luggage inside. They started arranging my luggage as they talked animatedly about the girls and the contest.
“Do you know that there are four she-wolves with alpha bloodline and seven with beta bloodline?” Lily said.
“Yes, and the rest of ga mmas with very influential parents,” Lilian added.
“You are the fifth she-wolf who is of the alpha bloodline,” Lily informed me.
I took a ragged breath in because that meant that Ace’s parents would know that I had crashed the Selection.
A knock on the door sounded, and Lilian rushed to open it. A petite girl peeked inside. “Katy Hanks?” Lily opened the door wide for her to come in. The girl came to me and gave me a thick envelope. “This is the schedule for the competition, miss,” she said with a smile. Then she took out a red envelope. “This is an invitation for tonight.”
I took it from her with a nervous smile. “Thank you,” I breathed. She bowed and left.
“Oooo!” Lily exclaimed as she came to look at the dinner invitation. “What is the dress code?”
“Red.”
The girls jumped with excitement and hurried to find a suitable dress for me. Attending the dinner meant that I would face his parents for the first time, and that made me edgy all over again. Lily placed all the red dresses on the bed for me to choose. Since I wanted to make an impression, I chose a burgundy dinner gown with a lacy off shoulder neckline. The middle was tightly cinched, and its tulle skirt gracefully reached my ankles. The skirt had a slit on the right side that revealed my skin as I walked. Subtle, yet not so subtle.
Though the twins wanted me to go heavy on makeup, I decided to apply lip gloss and mascara to my eyelashes only. As I strapped my heels, Lily said, “You are looking absolutely gorgeous!”
“Thanks Lily,” I said. “But you are biased.”
She chuckled sweetly. “You are!”
Shaking my head, I opened the door and saw my guards, Jeff and Kirk, standing outside. “We’ve already seen the place!” Jeff
said.
They guided me to the dinner venue, but when I got there, I saw it was veiled in darkness. Flustered, I looked around and wondered if I had missed any detail. The guards were just as confused as I was. Unsure of where to find the dinner venue in this colossal castle, I gave Ace a call, but he didn’t answer.
“What do we do, Miss Katy?” Jeff asked, feeling embarrassed for me.
I scratched my brow, wondering what to do next, when I remembered what Ace said. “Let’s go to the main gardens.” They guided me to the main gardens, but I knew that this wasn’t the venue. Following the scent of roses, I walked to the rear of the castle and came in front of the Rose Bowl. It was a beautiful garden surrounded by rows of roses in circles. My guards stayed out as I climbed the stairs that led to the dinner venue,
Just as I approached the main entrance, my gaze was captured by a woman in pink, stationed there to receive the guests.

When our gazes locked, she stared at me in surprise. She said nothing as I approached her. I dipped my chin in courtesy and smiled.
“Nice to meet you, Luce,” I said to Ace’s sister. “Next time when you send personal invitations, make sure that you print the right addresses. For a girl with an alpha bloodline, it looks clumsy otherwise.”
Saying that, I walked in with my chin up, leaving her glaring on my back.
