Chapter 77
PART 2
TWELVE YEARS LATER
EMMA SMITH
I watched through my window as Ethan and his best friend Sean played on the basketball court. I wasn’t watching with the intention of them to see me, I was watching with the intention of not getting caught.
Sean Mathew Steve, son of Michael Steve and Alyssa Steve, is one of the wealthiest men in the country and also a family friend.
I first met Sean when I was eight years old and ever since I saw him, I’ve had a huge crush on him. He was tall and lean with dirty blonde hair. He has a very beautiful smile and is intelligent
Over the years. I grew up with scan and Ethan, always hanging around them but when we turned teenagers, Sean and Ethan
began to distance themselves from me.
I didn’t know why. They would tease me and laugh at me and each time I tried to hang out with them, they’d look for an excuse for me not to and say it was better off I stayed away
It hurt at first that my twin brother would do that to me and it hurts more because the boy I crushed on avoided me and teased me.
Over the years I thought it would be fine but it never ended up fine. I would watch them do a lot of things and couldn’t do any so I began to avoid them myself.
When we started high school. I hoped to make a friend for myself. In middle school, they stopped speaking to me and made it hard for me to make any friends I looked forward to changing that in high school but sadly no one stuck around me for more than a day.
If I met someone today and we got along, the next day they’d see me and wave without stopping to talk to me.
It hurt and I began to wonder if there was something about me that I wasn’t seeing.
It wasn’t easy and worse the crush I have on Sean won’t go away. For someone who I should get over with for how he has treated me in the past, I just couldn’t.
He and Ethan as always seemed to be having a lot of fun as they played and I could hear that they were saints because of my ability as a werewolf.
On my sixteenth last year, I turned a werewolf for the first time.
The more I looked at Sean, the more I was wowed by how handsome he was. He was effortlessly gorgeous, tall, and well- built for a seventeen-year-old boy.
He was just as tall as Ethan my twin brother, almost a foot taller than me.
“Sean! Ethan!” A high-pitched voice spoke.
1 recognize that voice. It belongs to Serena. Serena Dart, the school’s most famous girl. She’s a cheerleader and also a bi tch.
She’s always finding her way around Ethan and Sean and they allow her to hang out with them but not me but why wouldn’t they? She’s hot and pretty and tall.

There were rumors that she had a crush on Sean while her best friend Darcy had a crush on Ethan and they both slept with them. I cringe each time I hear those words and worse they are shameless.
Serena looks for every means to make me angry. She would bump into me deliberately, make fun of me when I walked in the hallway but she’d never do that in front of Ethan.
She acts like a sweet girl whenever she’s around them and makes it seem like she cares but she’s nothing but a bi tch.
“Who let you in?” Ethan asked.
“Your mom did.” Serena replied.
“Hi babe,” Darcy said to Ethan as she walked closer to him. She attempted to kiss Ethan on the cheek but he evaded it.
“What brings you here?” Ethan asked.
Sean continued to play with the ball and later shot to the basket, ignoring the presence of the ladies who had come to see
them.
“Are you going to act like we aren’t here Sean?” Serena remarked.
Give it to Sean to act like everyone’s presence is invisible. Ethan was arrogant but Sean was worse. Sean was the worst version of Ethan. They both got along so well reason that they were best friends.
Ethan and I are twins yet we are different from each other but he and Sean got along so well.
While Ethan would still be nice, Sean wouldn’t. While Ethan would still speak, Sean wouldn’t. It was as if nothing concerned him and you cannot get him to speak to you unless he wants to
Serena walked over to Sean to get his attention but he kept bouncing the ball and kept looking at the basket.
“Come on, enough with the ball for now. At least acknowledge our presence. Serena said.
“Maybe if you didn’t come uninvited, we would, Ethan replied.
“You should have called or texted to ask if we wanted your presence but as it is, we don’t so you should leave.” It was Sean who spoke, finally turning to look at them.
Serena scoffed in disbelief, staring at the both of them in shock,
“Are you kidding me?” She asked.
“Does it look like we are?” Sean replied.
“Babe do I have to…
“And why are you referring to me as your babe? We f ucked once doesn’t mean we are in a relationship or did we speak on that?” Ethan cuts Darcy off and I hold my breath from laughing out.
Ethan and Sean were good at cutting people off and being alone. At one point I wondered if they were ga y and liked each other but it wasn’t so.
Sean and Ethan are straight and Ethan has his eyes on a girl who I was yet to know about and as for Sean, I don’t know. I hope he doesn’t because it would break my heart if he did.
“You sure know how to hurt a girl’s feelings. You don’t have to be so direct with your words you know?” Darcy remarked.
“Then maybe you should learn how to inform someone before you come.” Ethan replied.

Chapter 77
“Oh come on guys. You both don’t have to be so serious right now or should we? Besides we are here to have fun and since we are here why don’t we make the most of it?” Serena remarked
“Oh come on. We are all friends aren’t we?” Serena asked, trying to cheer the mood but it was evident it was ruined already
Just then my eyes met with Chase as he had looked directly towards my room. I gasped in surprise before hiding to avoid him seeing me anymore and concluding that I was staring at them.
He won’t let this go. “It’s fine Emma. It’s fine” I said to myself before standing up on my feet.
By the time I looked back at Chase and Ethan, they seemed to be speaking nicely to Serena and Darcy
I furrowed my brows in confusion. How did they go from not wanting the girls around them to wanting to have them around!
I closed my window in anger, not wanting to see any more of what was going on when I saw Chase put his arms around
Serena
“Hey, honey. You are here atlas. I thought you wouldn’t come downstairs,” my mom Isabel said to me.
She’s my best friend. The only one I could speak to and as much as I wished I had other friends, it wasn’t happening and I didn’t know why.
“How are you, honey?” She asked as I kissed her on her cheek.
“I’m good.” I replied.
“Are you sure?” She raised her brows in a questioning manner, one she does whenever she doesn’t believe what it was I was -saying.
“Not really. I just don’t feel in the mood.” I replied.
“Alright. That’s fine. You can’t always be in the mood but that’s life, isn’t it?” She pulled my cheek before smiling at me.
“Ethan’s friends came around. Why don’t you go and join them? At least that would cheer you up,” she suggested and I sho my head politely.
If only she knows Ethan and Chase don’t want me around. When she’s around, they act like they do but the truth is they don’t and it hurts because I don’t understand why they changed so much.
Even my brother would rather do the will of his friend over mine. Ethan wasn’t a bad brother he’s worse. He only comes around when he wants to be overly protective.
That’s what he and Chase do. The only time I see them around me is when they want to tell a boy to stay away from me. No boy approaches me because of them and for the girls, I don’t know why.
Probably because I’m lame. But I’m not. I dress like every normal girl and I’m smart. Maybe I’m not athletic but I’m still good to go.
“Why don’t you go tell Ethan I want to see him? I want you both to go grocery shopping for me,” my mom said.
“That’s a little weird. Why should we go grocery shopping and why should we go together?” I couldn’t help but ask.
“Your seventeenth birthday is coming soon and I thought it would be nice if would both started learning how to cook.. Cooking is my passion and I am not forcing either of you to like it but I’d appreciate it if you both learn how to make some cuisines.” She explained and I sighed.
“Alright,” I said before making my way to where Ethan and his friends were.

Chapter 77
I don’t know how I’d be able to look at Chase not after he saw me staring the other time. I sighed.
“And guess who’s here? If it isn’t the…”
“Don’t speak about my sister that way” Ethan cuts her off immediately making me smile,
“Oh come on. I didn’t say anything.” Serena said in her defense.
“What are you doing here?” Ethan asked.
“Oh please don’t act like I can’t stay away from you. I only came here because Mom wants to speak to you,” I replied, rolling
my eyes.
“Alright, tell her I’m coming,” he said.
I tried my best not to look at Chase but I ended up doing so but only for a nanosecond, my heart ski pped from the eye contact and I walked away hastily.
Ethan and Chase come to the kitchen later on.
“Good, you both came. So I want you and your sister to go grocery shopping,” she squealed in excitement.
“And why is that?” He asked.
“Because honey, I want to teach you how to cook. Who knows, that way you’d get to impress some little girl you are crushing on,” she smiled.
“But do I have to?” He asked.
“Don’t be grumpy and do as mummy says. I already wrote down the list for you and ur sister and all you have to get them okay?” She said, dropping the list on the table before walking off.
do is p
go and
“You don’t have to come with us. We will go get it alone.” Ethan spoke.
“Oh please. She didn’t say you and Chase. She said me and you so don’t act like I’m invisible and make me angry.” I chided.
He opened his mouth to say something but kept shut.
“I will go call the girls so we can drop them off before going,” he tells Chase before leaving just Chase and I.
As soon as Ethan left, I tried to look everywhere else except Chase.
“So you were staring the other time.” Chase cleared his throat.
