Chapter 23
“Nothing.” Ballard smiled at Summer. “But the program has been cracked.”
Summer didn’t say anything, just touched his head.
She also knew that Alick left urgently because of Ballard. But she wasn’t surprised, Ballard had shown great talent in certain areas since childhood.
Summer also never restricted the children’s interests and always did her best to support. them.
It was a pity not to cultivate such good genes.
Abby and Sanford were tired after the roller coaster. Summer and the children left the zoo and went to a nearby shopping mall for a meal.
Then she took them to a movie, and she reluctantly dropped them off at Fay’s house in the evening.
Summer touched their heads and said, “Be good at Fay’s house, OK?”
“Mom, don’t worry. I will take care of my younger brother.”
Ballard rolled his eyes.
“Excuse me, I’m the older brother.”
“That’s my older brother,” Abby pointed to Sanford. “You are the younger brother!”
“Even if he’s your big brother, I’m your second!” Ballard was very angry. “You are the smallest one!”
Seeing this, Summer was speechless. She was used to hearing their arguments.
“Either way, I’m older than you!
“When you asked me to buy you ice cream, you always called me big brother!”
Ballard and Abby still argued with each other. A laugh stopped them.
They turned around and saw Sanford smiling at them.
Sanford saw that they were looking at him. He immediately stopped smiling and kept a straight face again.

Chapter 23
“Or… You go on?”
When they got home, Summer was about to say something.
She didn’t know how to start.
Sanford said, “I won’t tell dad about today.” His eyes glowed. “And I won’t tell him about Ballard and Abby.”
Sanford already liked his younger brother and sister and wanted to live with them.
But he also didn’t want to make Summer sad, so he would keep the secret for her.
“Thank you, Sanford.”
Summer was very touched and hugged Sanford.
Sanford was stiff. He wanted to push Summer away, but he felt a warmth that he had never felt before.
He did not push Summer away but became attached to her.
Nearby, in a black Maybach, a pair of cold eyes stared at Summer and Sanford.
Alick just came back and saw the scene. He had no expression, but Bill, who was sitting in the front seat, was very surprised.
How was it possible for Sanford to let Summer hold him?
Was it real?
“Drive.”
Alick said coldly. Then Bill came to his senses and drove the car into the garage.
Summer felt exhausted after a long day. She took a bath. When she walked out of the bathroom, a familiar figure stood in front of her.
“Therefore, the CEO doesn’t need to knock before entering?” Summer sneered. “Mr. Hill, that’s not good.”
Summer scolded Alick in her heart and thought, “Da m n it! I must lock the door next time!”
“You improved a lot.”

Chapter 28
Alick looked up and down at Summer, who had already put on her pajamas.
“Thanks.”
Summer knew what Alick meant and smiled perfunctorily.
“If there is nothing to say, please leave,” Summer asked Alick to leave. “I’m tired. I need a
rest.”
Alick didn’t answer her right away. But Summer became impatient.
“I do want to say something,” Alick said lightly, “But you might not be able to sleep.”
Summer felt nervous. Intuition showed that it was related to Sanford.
“Sanford suffers from severe bipolar disorder. As you can see these days, he gets very excited about things.”

Alick’s eyes darkened. He felt a sense of blame.
As a child, Sanford was also very cheerful and liked to spend time with his parents like other children. But in two years, he suddenly changed into a different person.
Then he became emotionally agitated and began to reject others. And he became estranged from Alick.
But after Sanford spent time with Summer these days, Alick found that Sanford became stable, even if Sanford was still very cold to him, but Sanford didn’t shout to him as before.
After Alick finished speaking, Summer did not say anything. Alick noticed that her eyes turned red.
Summer was shocked. She just thought Sanford was born with a bad temper and blamed her for not being around him for years.
She never thought he was sick.
She only felt distressed. She couldn’t imagine what had happened to make a four-year-
old child like this.
“What did the doctor say?”
“He refused any psychological treatment and refused to take medication.”
Alick said sadly, “Therefore, I’d like you to stay and take care of Sanford, and convince

him to get treatment.”
The scene at the door set the idea in his mind. He relied on Summer, who could help Sanford.
“Is that all?”
Summer looked at him with indifference and resentment.
Summer thought, ‘T’m afraid Alick not only wants to keep me stay and take care of Sanford but also wants to wait for the opportunity to take Ballard away from me. It is a good plan!”
“No, of course,” Alick said honestly, “If you give me back my son, I can forgive you.”
Forgive?
It was so ridiculous!
“I can’t understand you, Mr. Hill,” Summer smiled bitterly, “Your son is already with you.”
“Summer, you know what I’m talking about!”
Alick became angry. What he hated most was that Summer played dumb in front of him.
“I will find him.”
Summer smiled more dismissively. Her eyes were full of sarcasm.
So what if he found Ballard? Turn Ballard into the next Sanford?
Summer knew that Alick could not get rid of Sanford’s illness. If he was concerned. enough about Sanford, how could he not know that Joan had treated Sanford badly?
