Chapter 172 Come Back to Me
Emelie hurried from the back of the garden to the hotel’s atrium. She felt uneasy, but at that moment, she heard the sound of the plano coming from the hotel.
She tilted her head and walked into the hotel, where someone was playing piano. It was melodious. Everyone clapped their hands as they walked past, and they even took pictures.
The person was playing Für Elise, which was a piece she liked.
Back in high school, there was a time she went to the senior building to find wesley. Passing by the music room, she heard this piece for the first time and was instantly captivated
However, she was in a hurry to find Wesley, so she didn’t pay attention to who was playing the piano.
Now, she pushed through the crowd to get a better look at the pianist. There, she saw William seated at the piano bench
Emelie was speechless.
He seemed to be in a different mood, playing the piano in public with eyes half–closed, his lashes shading his gaze.

His demeanor was unlike bis usual aloot self. His slender fingers danced across the keys, weaving together smooth melodies.
Emelie halted for a moment, then turned to leave. If it was him, she wouldn’t have been in the mood to listen to him play.
However, William had already seen her. “Emelie, come here,” he called out to her,
Should she go over? Emelie spoke softly, “Excuse me, could you let me through?”
The crowd made way for her. She wanted to leave, but William said, “It’s about work”
Emelie didn’t know what to say. They were in public, so he couldn’t do anything to her. She parsed her lips and turned toward him. “Mr. Middleton, what’s the matter?” Williams stopped playing the piano. As the onlookers noticed him stopping, they gradually dispersed.
In a subdued tone, william said, “Mrs. Parker went to Capebatt City the day before yesterday. Bryan seized the opportunity to invite her to dinner.
“During the meal, they discussed something. As a result, Swanson Corporation’s stake in this project suddenly increased from 20 to 35 percent, on par with Cloudex Corporation.” Emelle remained impassive. “I see.”

“Mrs. Parker’s Itinerary was kept confidential. The only time she accidentally revealed it was during our conversation the day before yesterday when she casually mentioned that she was going to Capebatt City
“She also mentioned being dissatisfied with certain aspects of the project. You were present at the time as well.”
William continued, “You discreetly took note of it and then informed Bryan, allowing him to take the lead and impress Mrs. Parker, thereby increasing Swanson Corporation’s stake, correct?
William’s statement wasn’t a question–It was a certainty,
Emelie remained noncommittal “If that’s how you see it, then I can’t do anything about it.”
Seated on the piano bench, William didn’t stand up. He lifted his head slightly to look at her, the crystal lights in the hotel lobby casting his face in an unyielding yet undeniably handsome light.
“After achieving such a significant fear, Swanson Corporation’s offer must have been extended to you, right?” he remarked.
Emelie smirked, casually tapping the piano keys. “I did indeed receive a new em in my inbox this afternoon.”
William’s expression was inscrutable, “You’re quite cunning.”
*After learning from past experiences and benefiting from your advice on numerous occasions, couldn’t remain oblivious, Mr. Middleton,” Emelie said.
She continued, “Given the current situation, it seems you can’t kick Swanson Corporation out of the game anymore. Meanwhile, I’ve secured my job. You can’t keep me unemployed anymore.”
Her first step toward protecting herself was successful.
Emelie forced a false smile. “If there’s nothing urgent, Mr. Middleton, I’ll retire to my room for rest. There’s work to be done tomorrow.”
She took a couple of steps, but the sound of the piano resumed behind her. This time, it was slow and melodious, devoid of any emotion, much like his voice. “Emelie, come back to me,” William said.
“What did
you say
Emele doubted if she misbeard amidst the plane’s melody and turned to look at him.”
said, come back to me,” William replied, his eyes half–closed as his fingers danced across the black and white keys. “Any conditions you set, I can meet them
