Chapter 679

Frustrated, Hera got off the bed and went downstairs to open the door, where a delivery man stood waiting for her.

“Ms. Youngworth, this is your order,” he said, passing her a lunchbox with the Imperial Hotel logo on top.

“You’ve got the wrong person. I didn’t order anything.” Hera started to close the door.

The delivery man stopped her and checked the information he received regarding the order.

“Mr. Killian, phone number ending 8888, placed the order and wanted it delivered to No. 16, Jadeite Bay. The receiver is Ms. Youngworth,” the delivery man read the information aloud. “I got the address right.”

Immediately, all traces of drowsiness left Hera’s system. How dare Bernard have someone tail her!

“I refuse to take it!” Hera spat, furious.

“Um…” The delivery man was in a tough spot. “Please take it, miss. If you don’t, I’ll have to pay for it in the end. It’ll be a waste of my energy coming all the way here too.”

He added, “On second thought, why don’t you talk things out with Mr. Killian?”

“Fine. Just give it to me.” Hera took the lunchbox from him and slammed the door shut.

After that, she tossed the lunchbox on the coffee table in the living room, went back to her room, and grabbed her phone.

Last night, she muted her phone before she slept. Now that she checked her phone, she saw that there were several missed calls and loads of messages on WhatsApp. Bernard’s chat was on the very top.

At 11:59 pm, he wrote, “Sorry, sweetie. I was sick last night. I didn’t scare you, did I? I have to leave for Flowera at midnight. Can you please come and see me off at the airport?”

He even added a pitiful emoji at the end of the message.

At 11:50 pm, he messaged her again, “We’re taking off soon. I’ll miss you.”

At 10:30 am, he wrote, “I’m here.”

And at noon, his message was, “Sweetie, it’s time to wake up and have some food. I ordered some from the Imperial Hotel for you. Remember to have your meal on time. Or it won’t be good for your tummy.”

After Hera finished reading the messages, she clucked her tongue in annoyance and replied, “Stop sending me anything at all!”

Her message had only just gone through when Bernard’s call came.

Hera declined his call and blocked his number.

The sun had only just risen in Flowera. Since there was a huge time difference between the two countries, Douglas, Johnson, and Felix were all in deep slumber.

Unable to sleep, Bernard stared at his phone and waited for Hera to reply to his messages.

He had been waiting so long for her to reply. And when she did, he immediately called her. Sadly for him, she declined his call straight away.

He tried calling her again but was notified that her phone was turned off.

Did she perhaps block him already?

In the end, he could only message her through WhatsApp.

He typed, “You said we wouldn’t see each other temporarily. You didn’t say we couldn’t contact each other.” He added a pitiful emoji.

Since they hadn’t spent the night together one last time, it meant that they hadn’t broken up just yet!

After half an hour, Hera still didn’t reply, so he sent a crying emoji to her again.

But this time, only one tick appeared in the bottom right corner of the speech bubble. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Bernard was at a loss for words. Hera had blocked him!

In Jadeite Bay, Hera hugged Tiramisu and went back to bed, ready to get some sleep after blocking Bernard’s number.

She had just closed her eyes when the doorbell rang again.

“This is ridiculous!” she hollered.

She grabbed her blanket and pulled it over her head, deciding that she wouldn’t open the door for anyone.

But then, the ringing continued because no one answered the door. The thing was that it continued for a long time as if the person outside knew for sure that she was inside.

Even Tiramisu nudged her with its nose as if asking her to open the door. Eventually, she got out of bed in a fitful rage and went downstairs.

Upon opening the door, she saw Tyler standing right there waiting for her.
