Chapter 203
Yvette scoffed silently when she heard Daphne accusing her like that. She figured the latter might as well say she had accused Yvette over and over again.
Daphne’s hand was covered in blood. After Xavier led her into the ambulance, they left together. Before they left, Daphne shot Yvette a satisfied look. It was as if she was gloating that Xavier had chosen her over Yvette.
At that moment, Yvette wasn’t upset at all. Instead, she hoped that Daphne and Xavier could be together soon. That way, he would let her and Noah go.
Meanwhile, Xavier had a deadpan expression. “Why did you come to Dewberry Manor at this hour?”
“I was scared to be alone at the hospital, and I wanted to see you.”
Daphne hadn’t managed to make him stay by her side when even she was severely injured. She was worried that he didn’t care about her anymore. What had happened earlier had
solidified her hunch.
Xavier frowned deeply. “Don’t come to Dewberry Manor in the future.”
Daphne felt like something was stuck in her throat. “Why? Is it because of Yvette? A woman like her isn’t worth your-“
He interrupted her. “Yvette is my wife!”
Daphne’s heart sank immediately, and her face became incredibly pale. “What about me? I’ve done so much for you all these years and waited for you for eight years.
“I’ll make it up to you.”
Xavier coldly called David Wagner, a famous director, in front of her and got her the lead role in a TV show. “As long as I’m around, you’ll never lose your fame. So, there’s no need for you to use any dirty tricks.”
At that moment, Daphne finally realized that Xavier had already seen through her. She looked afraid and no longer dared to ask him to marry her anymore.
Previously, things had gotten heated up online because she had plagiarized a song. However, it hadn’t mattered much because she’d had Xavier supporting her.
The issue had been resolved in no time. There were still many brands asking her to be their ambassador, and her reputation wasn’t affected at all.
That night, Xavier didn’t return to Dewberry Manor.

Yvette only learned that Daphne had gotten another lead role for a famous director’s TV show when she watched the news the next day. Daphne had also become an ambassador for a few
brands.
Kiki was furious when she called Yvette. “How the hell did she get so lucky? Why are all those brands still looking for her when she was involved in the plagiarism scandal? “Don’t even get me started on Mr. Wagner. Why would a world-renowned director like him cast a terrible actress like her?”
Daphne had put on a pitiful show at Dewberry Manor the previous night and started the day with so many brand deals and a lead role. There was no way Yvette didn’t know what was going on. “Kiki, did you know? Xavier has always thought that Daphne’s the one who saved Shannon
and Tristan.”
Kiki was stunned. “Why?”
“After I saved Shannon back then, I fainted. Daphne was the only one next to me at that moment, so she used the opportunity to take credit.”
When Yvette told Kiki what had happened back then, the latter was in disbelief. “How could she be so shameless? She even managed to trick Tristan and Xavier! Yvvy, you have to tell
Xavier the truth!”
Yvette looked at the rain outside, feeling a calmness within. “I’ve mentioned it to him once, and he didn’t believe me. Besides, it’s been ten years, and I have no proof at all. Also, I’m not sure if he’s treating her well because he wants to repay her.”
Kiki understood what she meant. “I bet he’s the reason why Daphne is so successful now. She’s also his first love, and men will always have a special place in their hearts reserved for their first loves.
“I think you should forget it. Once you’re pregnant, we’ll leave. I don’t care if he’s tricked or not.

Kiki thought Yvette made sense and figured it was fine for Xavier to be tricked. She hoped that he would find out that Daphne had been toying with him at his prime. Then, she wanted him to regret everything he had done.
“Yeah…” After Yvette was finished chatting with Kiki, she washed up and got ready to leave the manor. However, she saw a Mayback parked outside the entrance.
