Yvette felt extremely awkward, and she immediately turned the volume down. However, the phone slipped out of her hand by accident, and it fell under the seat.

Then, Kiki’s voice messages came in one after another, and they were all playing by themselves.

“You have to let me know if you’ve decided to be with him. I want to meet him too. I’ve heard that he has never been in a relationship before. An innocent guy like him is at least a hundred times better than Xavier…” Yvette bent down to pick up the phone. However, it was stuck under the seat, and she couldn’t get it out for a long time. Her face had gotten red as she tried nonstop.

The driver in front had no idea what was going on. When he noticed the scene behind him, he misunderstood the situation. Then, he hurriedly looked away and put up the divider.

When Yvette finally got the phone, she stopped the messages from playing.

Xavier looked furious. “Didn’t you say it was a normal partnership? Do you like younger guys?”

“As I’ve said, it’s all a misunderstanding.” Then, she hurriedly sent Kiki a message, “Aaron and I are just business partners. We were only talking about music last night. There’s nothing else going on.” With that, Kiki finally stopped the gossip.

It felt incredibly tense in the car.

Yvette looked out the window and realized they were going to Lane Mansion. Instead, they were heading to Dewberry Manor. “Aren’t we heading to Lane Mansion?”

Xavier said softly, “We’re heading back to Dewberry Manor. I’ll arrange for some doctors to treat Noah and get a tutor to educate him.”

She didn’t reject the idea. “Sure.”

For the past few years, she’d had to work and take care of Noah. So, she couldn’t let him go to school at all. With that thought in mind, she felt ashamed about it. When they finally arrived at Dewberry Manor, Noah got out of the other car and ran toward Yvette. “Mom!”

Yvette hugged him and ruffled his hair. “How are you feeling? Do you still feel any pain?”

He shook his head. “I’m fine now.”

“That’s good.”

Xavier was standing nearby, and when he heard their interaction, he couldn’t help feeling jealous.

A phone call interrupted the beautiful moment. It was Clifford. “Bring Yvette and Noah over now.” It was an order.

Xavier frowned slightly. “Why?” Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ηᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Malcolm’s grandparents are here, and they want an answer. Malcolm told me Noah purposely led him into the garden maze. Just get them here right now,” said Clifford. When Noah noticed someone was off with Xavier’s expression, he couldn’t help asking, “What’s wrong, Mr. Xavier?”

Xavier couldn’t believe he was still being called that. He told Noah about what Clifford had said and asked, “Did you really do that?”

Noah knew Malcolm would complain about it, and he wasn’t afraid at all. “Let’s go, Mom. I want to tell Mr. Lane Senior the truth.”

Yvette didn’t want her son to be framed either. “Sure.”

Noah thought there was nothing wrong with him tricking Malcolm into the maze. After all, he’d done it to protect himself. If he hadn’t done that, he would’ve been the one who was hurt. So, Malcolm only had himself to blame for always wanting to bully others.

Marlene’s parents had arrived at Lane Mansion. When they found out that Malcolm had almost frozen to death a few days ago, they were furious and demanded answers.

“Mr. Lane Senior, we only allowed Marlene to be a part of the Lane family because you’ve always done things right. Now that something has happened to Malcolm, you can’t just ignore it,” said Henry Larson, Marlene’s father.

Fiona Swift, Marlene’s mother, said, “Marlene has always been kind. Whenever something happened, she’s always been forgiving. That’s why people always bully herЯt’s heartbreaking.”

Clifford felt bad for Malcolm, and he was standing on their side as well.

Then, Xavier finally arrived with Yvette and Noah.
