Yvette was already having trouble sleeping in the first place; she became even more awake when Xavier lay down as well. She shifted further away from him. Suddenly, he grabbed her hand. She immediately settled down, closing her eyes, and feigned sleep. Xavier took her hand over and caressed it gently.

Yvette closed her eyes for a good while before realizing that he could no longer see now. He wouldn’t know if she was asleep or not, even if she opened her eyes. And so, she slowly opened her eyes, taking in Xavier’s side profile.

Yvette wasn’t sure when he had gotten up, but one of his hands was holding hers, while the other was touching around her forehead. He leaned down after making sure where her forehead was. She closed her eyes subconsciously as a light peck brushed past her brows. Her heart began to race for some reason.

Xavier did not do anything else and lay back down before carefully pulling her closer. Perhaps he was worried about touching the injury on her face; he did not hug her overly tight like he used to. Yvette had originally thought that the changes he’d shown recently were because of his amnesia. But now she realized that that wasn’t the case.

She finally fell asleep after some time, yet she was restless in her sleep, likely due to the incident during the day. She soon jolted awake after a while. “Zac-“

Xavier, who had been sleeping lightly, was woken by the noise. He immediately patted her shoulders, comforting, “It’s alright. Zac is fine now.”

Yvette gradually calmed down and slowly fell back asleep. Her sleep was unusually light throughout the night. She couldn’t help but to reach for his hand. “Xavier-” “Yes, I’m here,” Xavier replied.

Yvette found the scene oddly familiar. She was reminded of the time when she had been hurt by Andy. Someone had said the same thing to her too. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the ƒindηʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

While holding onto Xavier’s hand, she noticed an uneven scar on the back of his hand. She asked curiously, “Why is there a scar on your hand?” She had noticed it back when he’d been playing the piano, but she hadn’t ask him about it.

Xavier recalled how he’d gotten the scar when he’d saved her, yet he didn’t tell her about it. “It’s just a cut from the car window.”

Yvette grew more suspicious when

she heard his answer. She had always thought that Claude was the one who’d rescued her from the car accident and sent her to the

hospital. Xavier had appeared in the hospital shortly after.

Just as she was about to ask him about it, he said, “Let’s sleep.”

“Alright.” Yvette once again passed out from exhaustion.

It was already 10:00 am when Yvette opened her eyes once again. Xavier was no longer by her side.

After getting out of bed, she found Noah preparing breakfast downstairs. He said, “Come down for breakfast, Mom!”

“Okay,” Yvette replied, heading downstairs. She was perplexed when she didn’t see Xavier around. “Where’s Xavier, Noah?”

“I don’t know.” Noah felt upset when

he heard Yvette asking about hisz bastard father the first thing after waking up. He urged, “You should eat up so that you will recover quickly, Mom.”

She replied, “Alright. Thank you, baby.”

After Yvette had breakfast, she received a message from Aaron. He told her that he would be returning to Tirion soon, and he needed a song by then.

He also told her that his father had

obtained Yara’s falsified cancer diagnosis. They would be able to

giveat to her as proof after going for a professional appraisal.

Yvette thanked Aaron and soon started composing a new song. He had requested a charity single, focusing on the theme of family affection.

After agreeing to the request, she threw herself into composing the song, completely absorbed in her work.

Yvette found inspiration from her surroundings on the theme of family affection-the affection from Viola toward herself as well as her own toward her two children.

One represented a child receiving a mother’s love, while the other reflected a mother’s love for her children.
